Let's try to all do our part to keep the OSA classifieds running in an honest,legal,and orderly fasion.
Most of you know the rules for buying/selling firearms,so we're not going to re-hash it here.
If you have any concern about the legality of a transaction you can and are encouraged to email or PM a moderator, and we'll try to help in that area if we can.
Most transactions are likely to be face-to-face so there shouldn't be too many issues in this area.

1)Established members & Commercial listings.
-This is not the place for new members to post items for sale/trade, or to buy.
It's expected and required that members who post in the OSA classifieds be established members, who've shown by their participation that they are a part of this community.
Therefore a minimum of at least 20 substantive posts and membership for a period of 30 days is required to post in ANY of the classifieds sections.
20 "+1" or "BTT" type posts are not considered substantive posts......neither is cramming in 20 posts in one day, or 20 one or two word posts, with sole intent of using the ads.


-Additionally, this is not an area to sell goods for other people.
If you are listing items for sale here, it is expected that you are the owner of said items.
Posting third party sales is frowned upon because it is essentially allowing sales by non-established members.

-Finally, no commercial listings will be allowed in any of the classifieds sections unless you are an official OSA sponsor or advertiser.
For information on becoming one you'll need to contact administration so he can help you with that.


2)Out of state deals.
No out of state firearm ads.Period.
(either buying or selling)
If you live out of state and offer to do a face to face (FTF) handgun transaction,your post will be removed. Repeat offenders will be subject to temporary suspension and/or expulsion from the site.

3)Location,Location,Location.
List your location (city) either in the ad or in your profile.
If your location is not listed in either place, your ad will be subject to removal


4)Email.
Any ad, whether to buy,sell,or trade, requires a valid working email address.
If you have selected not to receive emails through this board, you must list an email address in your ad. No exceptions.

5)Auctions.
No links to auctions.Period.
Also, if you are sellling something, price it.
'nuff said.

6)Proper classifieds section.
Please list your item in the appropriate section of the OSA Marketplace:
Classifieds for firearms, Non-firearm Related for everything else, or the Want to buy (WTB) section if you are only looking to buy.

7)Please keep offers private.
If you have something to offer whether it's a trade or just straight cash, do your business through PM or email, not on the board.
If you agree to purchase an item at face value as posted, you can post: "I'll take it"

8)No chatter.
Do not post in any member's ad unless you have a legitimate query about the item.
There is simply no need to post in someone's ad unless you have a genuine question about the item for sale insofar as the description of said item is concerned....and this does not include pricing.
(all pricing issues are considered 'offers' and shall be kept private per rule #7)

There will not be any: "Free bump for a great guy/gun", "Wish I had the money", "nice gun", or "I have one just like this" type posts allowed in any of the classifieds sections.

There will be an exception to this rule ONLY in the WTB section where members will be allowed to post a lead for the potential buyer on the item they are seeking.
(but let's not go crazy with it)

NEGATIVE OR OTHERWISE INANE POSTS IN A PERSON'S AD WILL BE SUBJECT TO REMOVAL and the offending party subject to temporary suspension and/or expulsion from this site..


9)SOLD.
Items that are no longer available, whether traded or withdrawn, should have the word: SOLD attatched to the last post in your ad

This is to aid us with cleanup.

*Your ad WILL be subject to removal if it says "sold pending funds",after 10 days.


10)BTT,TTT,etc.
After you post your ad, you may only bump it to the top of the page ONCE a Day.

Obviously though, you may answer any questions posted about your item in the thread as needed.

11)Posting multiple items.
If you are posting multiple items at once, post them all in one thread.

All posts in here are subject to review and editing if considered inappropriate for the forum or in violation of these rules.
No selling of anything even remotely illegal will be allowed.

Failure to adhere to these rules may be considered grounds for ad removal and/or temporary suspension or permanent expulsion from this site.
We've had far too many issues with this ( and particularly with chatter in the ads) and we simply are not going to give out too many warnings.

Note: This site is for supporting our Firearm community, and as such is supported by that same community. If you are here only to sell stuff in our Classifieds and have no interest in being part of our community, then you will probably find your access revoked or not instated at all. We are not looking for more new people to post in our classifieds, we're looking for people to join and participate in our family-oriented community. If you are only interested in selling stuff through our Classifieds, then please join and use e-Bay instead.
