Now, I've got a Mossberg 835 I swapped the long overbore barrel out for an 18.5" cylinder-bore barrel to be able to do slugs for home defense purposes. The new barrel only has a little gold bead sight and there is no rear sight. Should I just have the receiver tapped and drilled to mount a Picatinny rail on and put on a reflex sight? I like ghost rings and fiber-optic sights, but a simple reflex and rail would be a good option to be able to swap out the sight for something for hunting, should I want to put the longer barrel back on and go shoot some turkeys or whatever.

Anyone got any ideas? Done anything like this with an 835?

Just recently shot a sporting clays charity event for the Boy Scouts out at Red Castle called Shooting Stars. This is the 3rd year I've attended and have had a great time. I've always borrowed a shotgun as I've always been into pistols and rifles. Well I'm thinking I want to get more into the sport so I actually have two questions:
1. From all the reading and research I've done RC seems like a great club. What is your take on RC's membership, got any good or bad information to share?
2. What are some things I need to consider when purchasing a shotgun for sporting clays use? Currently I have a 20ga pump; however I don't like pumps for skeet or sporting clays. I'm looking at either an O/U (no Stoegers) or semi-auto, can be 12ga or 20ga.

Just tried with toothpics, and it was marginally better, but as you can see, there was still a lot of bleedover on the edges. How can I get this crap off? Will it just wear off? Sand it? Steel wool?
I am in the market for an over/under 12g and talking with a buddy of mine in Texas he sent me this video. Chiappa Firearms is a solid brand (from my limited experience w/ their handgun) and would be nice change. Video is showing them hunting pheasant so I can assume it would do just fine with about any bird.

Has anyone ever fired this shotgun or had issues with a Chiappa Firearm in general? Its been out for about 6 months now so I figured if there were an issue it would have come to head about now.

Either way this thing looks like a beast!
