I have the license and the machine to make ammo and with the brass I have from the local range I can reload for a little less than making new,
However what is a fair price to sell reloaded ammo for.
The cost of reloading has always been more than the cost of new ammo but with the inability to buy ammo for the common man is it worth trying to sell?

It cost from .20 to .28 to make a single reload with modern prices of primers, powder and bullets provided I don't have to pay for the brass. this does not include any labor or gas to go get the supplies or postage to get them here. I can comfortable make 400 to 500 rounds per hour after setup.

I do not load lead, FMJ and JHP only. What would you sell them for?

9mm?
40?
45?
223?

I realize that if no one wants to shoot reloads then I won't sell any but with ammo so hard to get for the average shooter what choice do they have when it is time to take their CCW?

A few weeks ago they had the Federal Target 325 round cardboard box for, I think it was $18 and some change.

Today they had the same ammo but in a can kinda like what you buy peanuts or cashews in, for $19.95

Limit 1 box per day.

Somebody posted a few days ago, I think it was a different forum, that wallymart had the same thing for $13.47 But good luck finding that at wallymart or anywhere else.

I just want to go shoot my 22 a bit.

I guess I'm showing my age but when I was a kid a brick of 22 ammo was $5.00 and the tax rate was lower too.

Hi guys, new here and wanted to pick your brain a bit. I am very experienced reloading rifle ammo, I regularly reload .243, 30-06, .300 WinMag and 7RM and about to start loading .223/5.56. But I am also going to start loading some handgun ammo. The calibers will be 9mm Luger and 45 ACP. I purchased a Kahr 9mm for the wife and a Kimber 1911 for myself since we have moved here (first of January). So far I like the performance of the 115gr FMJ in the 9mm and 230gr FMJ in the .45. I've already purchased some 9mm bullets (Berrys 115gr round nose) and a pound of Bullseye powder, still looking for .45 bullets. I figure to use the recipes in the reloading manuals I already have. I have a single stage Hornady press and already have dies for both calibers. So much for the background.

Anyone have any pointers regarding manufacturers, loads, procedures. Anything drastically different from reloading rifle ammo? When I am reloading rifle ammo I usually check the weight of every round but don't figure it's necessary for the handgun ammo, maybe check every 5th or 10th round or so. Any difference in seating the bullet? Whatever you can throw my way would be appreciated.

I'm currently doing my research online about this same topic but figured I'd get something going on here as well cause I know there is a ton of knowledge on here to pull from. I have a Savage 30-06 bolt action 4+1 internal capacity, no detachable magazine. I have added a Blackhawk bi-pod so far & that is all. The rifle came with a Bushnell 3x9x40 Sharp shooter scope. I bought 200 rounds of Remington 180 grain Core-Lokt ammo. I have only ran 3 shots through it in my back yard at about 30-35yrds out just to get a feel for the recoil standing, crouched & laying flat using the bipod. I didn't think the recoil was that much of a issue honestly but I also did not rapid fire & try to get back on target quickly either.

I have been reading alot about different rounds & wanted the opinion here on what everyone prefers. Do you like a lighter grain round or heavier & why? Should I just shot these 200 rounds & then go to a different grain round before attempting to set this rifle up for 600yrd shots? I think I'm gonna zero it at 300 & note my adjustments for under/over that range. I figure I'll need to upgrade my scope cause this one isn't always the clearest but it isn't horrible either.

I'm assuming from my reading that the 180 grain will carry more punch at POI over the lighter rounds, am I understanding this correctly? I'm not wanting to get into reloading at this time so off the shelf ammo is what I'm going for & performance. This rifle will be used for hunting & long distance shooting for fun. I'd like to find an ammo I can easily pick up at the store & not run me $50 a box for just 20 rounds.

So for those with insight into this subject please chime in. I'm very interested to hear what you have encountered or discovered over the years.

I just posted a want-to-buy for some 30-30 Accelerator rounds. A friend of mine swears they were tack driving accurate in his old 30-30, but everything I see on the internet seems to indicate otherwise. He's a one gun kind of a guy, and has a stack of nice antlers to prove that if you use it right, the 30-30 will get the job done. I hope I can find him some of these rounds. I have recommended that he try some of the Hornady Leverevolution rounds.

Anybody got experience with Accelerators? I never tried reloading any of them since I have a few .22 caliber rifles with big 'ole brass and can get hyper velocities withoug the sabot approach.

Went by the pawn shop and he had 200 rds of 10mm almost all hp's. None were in the factory box but I think they are all factory loads as all the head stamps matched the same bullets. They were all in 100 rd reloader boxes. Sold me all of them for $40! It is good to have a buddy at a pawn shop!
