What are your questions? I'm sure we can help you out.
SBR's/SBS's are $200 tax stamp.
AOW's are only $5 I believe, I've never done one.
AOW have to come from the factory in the config. you buy it in. It's not like an AR where you register the lower and then put a short upper on it.

Plenty of info over at the AR15.com NFA FAQ section. Link below.

Josh is correct. SBR, SBS, MG, Suppressor and Destructive Devices all transfer for $200 while AOW's transfer for $5. If you as an individual want to build an AOW on a form 1 it will cost $200 to make and then $5 to transfer to someone else.
Here are some brief descriptions:
SBR = a weapon made from a rifle that has an overall length of less than 26 inches or a barrel of less than 16 inches in length.
SBS = a weapon made from a shotgun that has an overall length of less than 26 inches or a barrel of less than 18 inches in length.
AOW's are a little more complicated so I will give you the ATF definition = any weapon or device capable of being concealed on the person from which a shot can be discharged through the energy of an explosive, a pistol or revolver having a smooth bore designed or redesigned to fire a fixed shotgun shell, weapons with combination shotgun and rifle barrels 12" or more, less than 18" in length, from which only a single discharge can be made from either barrel without manual reloading, and shall include any weapon which may be readily restored to fire. Such term shall not include a pistol or revolver having a rifled bore, or rifled bores, or weapons designed, made or intended to be fired from the shoulder and not capable of firing fixed ammunition. 26 USC sec. 5845(e).
Here is a pic of my 870 AOW.

Don't forget short barreled shotguns will have stocks where AOW's won't/can't.
What are your questions? I am in the process of building a form 1 can and just finished a form 1 sbr. With a couple of more in the near future.
AOW's are cool and plan on building one of those shortly with a local class II's help.
