Finally. After months of trying to trade for one, I got an XD.

It was the Promo Pack, w/3 16rd hi caps and a holster.

I don't have any pics yet, but it's brand new so it looks like this.

I don't think I've ever waited so long for a "reasonably priced" gun.

Let's hope it doesn't rust immediately.

The XD's have a reputation for rusting, that's all.

But Springfield will refinish it mine has not rusted

They will refinish it, but I'll take extra special care of mine in order to keep it looking good. It's not for carry or competition. It's just a range gun and will be cleaned immediately after use and stored in a climate controlled safe.

I really like mine, insert plug here for randgfirearms (http://www.randgfirearms.com). I've only owned 1911s before the XD, now I've sold or traded three 1911s after getting my first XD.

edit - and no I don't work for, or have any "stake" in their business. Just the local folks that have decent prices and are good to deal with.

I bought mine from R and G too. $419 new in box w/ 3 hicaps and a holster. That's a hard price to beat for a local deal.

I called Gary on Sunday morning and met him that afternoon. Nice guy and good prices.

That's a great price. Yours should have a second slot in the frame under the light rail that would allow you to put an XML light all the way back against the trigger guard.

My 4" has never been carried in a bellyband. It shows holster wear, but never a speck of rust. You should have zero worries.

I didn't get a chance to shoot the new XD this week.

I'm supposed to pick up my next XD on Monday. I ordered a Sub-Compact to complement my service XD.

I have 2 G26/G19 combos and thought a XD9(3in)/XD9(4in) would be cool.

I got a 30 rifle Bear Safe. I can squeeze a lot weapons in there. Thanks for the offer anyway. I know your just trying to look out for my best interests.

I picked up the sub XD today. It's always fun bringing home a new gun.

I've been trying to trade for an XD for the longest. I finally broke down and bought 2 new ones. I probably should have bought one XD and the G34 that I've been wanting. Unfortunately I love those matching combos.

It does have the second light rail. It doesn't make much diff for me as I only have a Streamlight which uses the further mounting point.

Both XDs were promo packs. Each came with a factory holster and 3 magazines. The service model has 3 16rd mags and the sub has 2 flush 10rd mags and a 16rd w/ext sleeve. The extension sleeve is removeable so I can use the 4 hi caps with either gun.
