I'm going to do this for the first time tomorrow.

I got a couple shotguns, 500 shotshells, 180 clays, and one of those pitching machines.

I'm not a great shot when something is sitting still. Not sure I'll ever hit a moving target. Anybody have some advice?

Start out shooting the birds flying directly away from you. Don't have to worry about "lead" so much. Bring the gun up on the target and keep it moving with the bird. Do not stop and then pull the trigger. Follow through. Not sure how fast one of those little machines throws a bird but I think a skeet machine will throw them 80 mph out of the house. When shooting real skeet I lead the bird about 3 to 4 feet on station 4 which means the bird is flying at a 90 degree angle from you. My .2 cents

Thanks for the advice.

Hit or miss, it's better than going to work.

It was much easier than I thought it would be. After a few minutes, I was even busting 2 birds at a time.
