I've order a pair of these grips to have as a second pair. I think these will look awesome on it.

Glad you like it! The TV is awesome also. Plus, I was able to trade a "selfish" asset for a "family" asset! That adds big points for the next time I find that "come on honey, just let me buy this one gun.....". that I just gotta have!

Yep, and I did just the opposite and lost points, or so the wife told me. :wink2:

All kidding aside, it would be nice to add a 1911 to the collection. I've gone kind of overboard on the military rifles lately and need to get back on handguns. I guess I'll have to post a WTB ;)

I've always wanted to have a 1911 Stainless in particular and this was the perfect opportunity to own one. :)
Anyone who says that a 1911 isn't a beautifully designed weapon needs to have their head examined.

Of course, it's not just the cost of the weapon, it's the dies, brass, bullets, yadda, yadda that goes along with a new caliber. Guess I'll have to get a Glock 21 as well to make the reloading investment worth it :)

What I would like to do next is to get a skeletonized trigger. That would make it even more appealing. I don't think that's a feat I want to attempt myself, so I need to figure out who here in town is competent enough to do it for me.

Nowlins does top quality work.
Yes he does but he is not cheap. I have also heard that he is getting out of the gun making business and going to start doing accessories only...not sure if this is true or not though.
Pete..take it over to OPS and talk to their gunsmith. I have heard that he is really good.

Nowlin does some of the best work out there, I'd rather have a full house Nowlin than an Ed Brown, Wilson, Baer etc......and he's just as pricey as any decent gunsmith.
A word of advice to the 1911 newbies..... if you want something done, PAY TO HAVE IT DONE RIGHT! You will not regret it. However, if you're just switching out a trigger then a majority of local smiths would do.
Glockender... the exact opposite of what you said is true from what i've been told from Nowlin. They are getting out of the 1911 parts business and concentrating on builds.

You're right...I had it backwards. I overheard the conversation when I heard this, so I wasn't really paying attention ;)
