would there be any interest in adding a section to the board for which the thread title would be like this "Glock 26" for the thread, inside the thread it would contain a picture of a Glock 26, then we could list MSRP of the item then put prices that they can be found at (if a person bought one say used or from a gunshow) are 400$-525$ range. with other usefull information under that. such as what other model the 26 & size of cartridge and stock mag size.

any other posts under that thread will only be user reviews of the weapon, not their feelings or opinions. and must be backed with a picture of their weapon. :thumb:

reason for this is people interested in another gun can easily without to much searching find what they want, and have it well documented. anyone should be able to summit an thread of a certaint weapon but have it reasearched well enough with pictures

also if any information is miss-leading could PM a certaint moderator to change individual threads. no other posting would be allowed besides reviews or threads started.

also in the first post links to vendors (local if possible for guns & accessories) if non local regional if possible or farther.

the whole format could be refined and have a standard format set up for how to post overall.

Thread : Glock 26

http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/f/ff/325px-Glock26.JPG
Glock 26
Model size: SubCompact
Cartridge size: 9x19mm
Capacity: 10 rounds

price can be above and below this estimated price
MSRP: $566.00
seen going for:
$400-$525 used

General Information:
The Glock 26 is a pistol manufactured by Glock. It is a sub-compact frame Glock based on the Glock 17 and chambered for the 9 mm Luger Parabellum round. It features a small frame, short barrel and slide, and small magazine. It is a very popular self-defense and carry pistol, owing in part to the popularity of the 9 mm Luger round, of which the Glock 26's standard magazine can hold 10 rounds. A small extension can be added to the base of the magazine in lieu of the standard base-plate, this makes for a more comfortable hold on the abridged grip of the sub-compact Glock, without seriously compromising concealability, as well as increasing the capacity to 12 or sometimes 13 rounds. With one round in the chamber, this gives a a total capacity of 13 or 14 rounds.

The Glock 26 is classified by Glock to be a sub-compact pistol for the purpose of concealed carry and sometimes referred to as the "Baby Glock".[2] Its double-stack design allows it to carry more 9 mm rounds than other (single-stack) pistols of similar grip length. though it is not limited to the standard 10-round magazine.

The Glock 26 will accept and feed from all 9 mm Glock magazines - including those of the Glock 17, 18, 19, and 34, though naturally the longer magazines will protrude somewhat. This adds to the appeal as a carry pistol for some; as it's easy, carrying just one spare Glock 17 magazine, to have a 19 round reload - giving a total capacity of 33 rounds. This interchagability feature also makes the Glock 26 a popular backup or second gun for law enforcement officers who carry one of the larger 9 mm Glock handguns as their duty pistol.

The Glock 26 has identical external dimmensions to the Glock 27 and the Glock 33.

It's not a bad idea, but finding someone to input all that data and keep up with it would almost be impossible. Not everyone likes Glocks so you would need to add HK's, Sigs, S&W, etc. The task would be monumental to say the least.

I kind of like the idea. Hey Kelly, what about incorporating something LIKE this in the Articles? You could maybe accept submissions of review type articles, and the readership maybe could comment on possible inaccuracies. I don't know, I like the idea, but it WOULD be tough. I'd love to see REAL reviews unlike the ads in the gun rags!

dear sir. Rome was not built in a day. like i said, users can submit with mine or an agree'd on standard format. and the admin of this particulare area can add or remove what they feel are most important.

basically it a OSA Wiki admin will moniter this or heck i will...

I think it is a good idea, though very time consuming. Maybe 3 or 4 of us could work on getting the data in and then mods could just check and make sure the posts stayed reviews and not opinions? I don't know, but I would be willing to help with it. This is something I could do with my limited knowledge.

Maybe we could even limit the personal reviews to a few trusted members that have the particular piece so it doesn't turn into a glock vs 1911 weewee match.

eh, i wouldnt be worried about limiting reviews, i figure if you own that one gun, you make one review, straight to the point aswell. buy this whole thing i feel should have not only hand guns but rifles also, but only pistols and rifles. id like to try it out, see how people feel about it. dont think to many people look at the suggestion board.

I think the section should only include those firearms actually owned by members, and then the member would post the review of their own firearm, in the agreed upon format. If so, then it wouldn't be any one (or few) member tasked with putting all guns up. The basic information is already on the web, you just have to look for it. I don't think an all-inclusive list of every gun made is desirable on this site, but organized reviews titled by gun would be nice. This way only the guns that have reviews would be listed. So I would put up a review on my guns, Artic-Z would put them up on his guns, and so on.

So to put up a review I would:

1) Search
see if anyone else had posted one first, if so, skip to step 4, if not, proceed to next step.

2) Thread Title
<<Make Model Caliber>>

3) Thread Body
<<picture>>

<<actual specs and facts blah blah>>

4) Personal Opinion and Review
<<msrp or state that it is not sold anymore>>
<<what you paid if you want, and what price range they go for>>

<<my review blah blah>>

<<any related links you want to post>>

sounds pretty good to me nikat, basically same concepts. i feel the location should be right above the Hand Gun and General Discussion forum section and titled

"OSA Handgun and rifle Reviews"

also if you cant take a picture of your handgun or rifle id please ask to find one similar to your exact weapon and post it. with the [.img] tags...

I actually think this would be doable if you wanted to give it a try, and most of the mechanisms for this are in place now on the front website.

There are some facets of this idea that are already out there. If you go to the main website and click on "News", then Newsfeeds, you can click on Firearmspedia Update which is updated daily with new stuff. Not exactly what you're talking about but some of it is similar. (You can click here (http://www.okshooters.com/index.php?option=com_newsfeeds&task=view&feedid=17&Itemid=45) for a direct link.)

Kelly thanks i see how some of its similar to what we've been talking about. i feel it lacks the personal touch of what i am talking about with our own members giving their reviews of the weapons them selfs. but the information part is there. i certaintly would love to give it a try. I'd probably choose to sticky certaint articles like "Flashlight reviews" & "Knife reviews" so they would not be lost in the other firearms.
