I have my CCW and am wondering if you can carry multiple loaded firearms?
Such as carrying your primary piece and a backup. Or how about carrying multiple loaded firearms, not necessarily on your person, when heading to the range. Like a loaded rifles and shotguns in the trunk. I guess I'm not entirely sure what the CCW allows you to do and not do.
I am still being very careful to keep ammo & mags separate from the firearms (obviously not counting my carry piece) and would like to be able to carry everything loaded if possible. You know, just in case all hell breaks loose while I'm driving down the road and I'm forced to take out other drivers. :wink2:
I don't think there is any limit on the number of weapons you can carry. Just keep in mind, you must keep track of all of them through the day. Sometimes one is tough enough.

I've carried two guns ever since I got my CCW.(primary and bug)I've never given it much thought. The CCW is for carrying a concealed weapon and doesn't say how many.As far as having loaded weapons in your car?I would say,the law says you have to transport the firearms in plain sight, and unloaded.I'm saying this is for the regular folks. With being licensed to carry a concealed "loaded" weapon, and the statute says that any firearm within the vehicle of a licensed person is covered, you should be ok.I've never seen the need to load up my long guns or pistols before I get to the range.I'm not a lawyer or LEO nor do I play one on tv but I'm guessing if you get pulled over and have a CCW and 35 other loaded guns in you car,the second thing out of your mouth after "I'm carrying a concealed weapon, here's my plastic",is going to be "on and yea,and I'm headed to the range".
We have CCW's,we carry guns.LOT'S OF THEM!!!

During my CCW class the teacher told us that you were only aloud one loaded gun and the rest had to be unloaded and should be locked in a case.I read the red gun rule book and couldn't find anything about it in there.Maybe a lawyer or a police officer on the forum could line us out.

Okay, but if its a crime, you must be convicted by a jury of your peers. You have a license to carry one.....a cop busts you for carrying two.....who would convict of anything!

I've never heard of "One Gun Only". I walk with a limp if I don't ballance myself out with my left front pocket bug gun and my right hip primary gun.
I alway get the mental picture of John Goodman in DOA when he has to go in to talk to a prisoner and starts pulling knifes, guns, and various blunt objects from his peron."hell, if that doesn't stop them,I just piss on them". :rotflmao:

Someone in our class asked the question is why I remember. My teacher could have been wrong. He seemed to be pretty knowledgable.I took it at Happy Hollow. He was kind of a likable hard ass kind of a person. Can't remember his name.

I do like your way of thinking.
My understanding is there is nothing in the SDA statutes prohibiting carry of more than one weapon.

Carry as many handguns as you wish, BUT they all must be conceled...
As for the loaded rifles and shotguns, NOPE, they need to be unloaded and cased in your vehicle.

We had a thread about this back in June or July. While the answer isn't perfectly spelled out in the SDA, it does say you may carry *a* semi automatic, revolver, or derringer. It does not make an plural references.
If you search around for the old thread, it might help better answer your questions.

The problem would be getting a jury of your peers thats 12 other gun toating folks. That aint likley as you will surley get stuck with atleast one Ruth bater ginsburgesq liberal. It only takes one liberal to ruin a party.. :) :gun1: :smack:
There is no statute limiting the number of concealed weapons you carry. I have been stopped at a "safety check" and informed the trooper I was carrying "a" concealed firearm and he said "ok, where is it?" I said one on my side and one in the bag next to me" the trooper standing next him asked "what do ya carry?". The traffic stops I've been in have been pleasant if you can use that word for a traffic stop. I also remember our instructor making it a point to mention that there is no limit.

I think Title 21 sec. 1289.7 disagrees with you about the rifle/shotgun.

All you'd need is one gun guy. It takes all 12 to convict!

section 1289.13A states that a long gun may be carried " clip or mag loaded" but not "chamber loaded " if you have a CCW permit.
