I am off to buy a new Glock this week. I am asking for opinions on frame size. First off, I am 5'-10" and weigh in at a whopping 150. Very thin build. I have owned almost every Glock pistol ever made and like all of them. I am going to use it mainly for CCW. I have decided on calibre and make, just not model. So for my delima we will use the model 26 (sub compact) and model 19 (compact) as our model options for size. I like the G19 because it is a longer site rad, and higher cap, although i could use the 19 mags in the 26. The 26 is smaller and more easily concealed on my small frame. I have a great little threat solutions holster that fits all sizes and is very comfortable and hides all frame sizes well. So what are the advantages of one over the other?

I had the 23 and 27 and the 23 just "felt" better to me. I know that's not very scientific, but it's a fact none the less. See if you can rent both and try them out side by side. They are both small and conceal well, so it really comes down to capacity and how well you shoot them, and you won't know that until you try them.

As stated in my first post, I have owned several. I shoot both pretty much the same. The 19's I had in the past do feel better in the hand for longer shooting sessions, and seem to point shoot better than the 26 size pistols. As far as accuracy with them, I pretty much shoot all GLOCK models consitantly the same, regardless. The 19 seems to be a better "all around gun" and the 26 seems to be the best choice for everyday ccw, although the 19 is fairly small and can become an every day ccw.

You already own the best gun ever made, the Springfield XD :smack: If you want smaller, get the XDSC in 9mm. Thats just my biased opinion. All seriousness aside, I would go with the G26. The easier guns are to carry, the more likely you will have it on you at all times. After all, that is what counts when it is needed.

Everyone needs to excuse Jeremy C. from this site. He is my brother, and I hit him too many times in the head when we were young!

I have the G23 and the G27 - and if I had to pick ONE for CCW only - I would pick the G27. If I had to pick ONE for my only all around home defense and CCW combined I would pick the G23.
Get the 19.
The 26 doesn't allow full purchase on the grip because your pinky is hanging off.
By the time you add extensions, you are back up to G19 length.

Cool, thanks for all the input. Jason, I will be seeing you tomorrow to buy it. I need a LE Glock 19, make sure you have one in stock for me.

I will always keep at least 1 of each. They are both excellent guns.
I have a special love for the G19, but I almost always carry my G26. It's just too convenient to carry and it's super accurate. I was afraid the small grip would make it hard to control and shoot. My first trip to the range proved otherwise.
Either way you go, you'll have a great gun.
