I have a legal question about AK-47, I just don't know for sure. If anyone can help me I'll really appreciated. If I bought an Arsenal SLR 101S and have the Magazine well milled to accept standard magazines, do I have to put in a US part kit to make it legal?
This is the AK I am talking about:

This is the article I read that says it has to have a US part kit to remain legal:

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks.

I did alot of research before I bought mine. The way I understand it, if you mill out the mag well then, yes you will have to install a US parts kit.
Oh, and I would consider a model without the sportster stock. Most that I've talked to that tried one said that the standard stock and pistol grip feel sooooo much nicer.
But to each his own. :)

Thanks. Yeah I decided to pass on that AK. I want to get one with real butt stock and pistol grip with pre-ban features. I also want one with scope mount on it. Sooner or later I'll get one.

If you dont mind a bastardized version the VEPRs are great. Longer LOP than a normal AK and more robust with the 1.5mm receiver. Pistol grip, takes normal mags and can get a brake or flash suppresor. plus come in 7.62x39, 7.62x51, 5.56x45, 5.45x39
Have integral side scope mount also.

Thanks for the info. I know VEPR makes great AKs too. But I think I like the looks of the Arsenal Aks better otherwise, I won't mind getting an VEPR AK.
This is the one I am probably going to get:
