Finally, S&W has listened to real shooters. They have come out with a new Model 22 Thunder Ranch. After all the bitching about the pimp gold logo on the Model 21, they ditched it in favor of a small etching on the top of the grips. The gun is chambered for .45 ACP, which (IMNSHO) is a more usable chambering than the .44 Special. It loads with moon clips, has a 4" tapered barrel, and duty sights. Also, it has a REAL square butt -- no funky round to square grips. It also comes with some nice magna stocks, none of those jacked up finger groove abortions.
I've got one coming in to H&H this week, and I'll post pics as soon as I get it. I hate the lock and the MIM parts on new Smiths, but I'm overlooking them for this one, as the new Model 22 should be just what a combat revolver is supposed to be.
