Getting ready to walk back out to the stand. I hope I see that big one that I saw yesterday. I love to watch the woods wake up in the mornings.

Gotta love the day after thanksgiving, its the only time of the year that female shoppers are up at the same time as hunters.

I would probably be out there everyday this week if it wasn't for work :(

I went out this morning after work(dirty and all) and got a buck within 30 minutes of getting out of my truck. It weighed 80 lbs and was a 2 pointer.

That ought to be some tender meat! I can't wait 'til Friday thats when my meat is supposed to be ready. I'll be cooking deer chili that night!

Who do you take it to for processing? For the past few years, we have used Paul's in Sapulpa.

Same hear, Paul's has always done a good job for me! He seems to be the most popular processor around. I just don't trust those "at home" processors hard to tell if they run a clean operation?

BTW I talked to one of the butchers at Pauls last sunday and he said they took in 20 more deer on opening day than they did last year.

Went back out there this morning...to a different location. The place we went this morning is up in Nowata. This is a "no doe" area except on certain days and today was not one of them. I ran up 3 doe out there this morning all about average size....if i had to guess i would say between 75 and 90 pounds each.

Tomorrow should be a doe day right?

Out there in Nowata it will be, but I think we are going back to Skiatook tomorrow...not sure though. Skiatook is open to doe all season :)

Why the heck have you been posting all day? You should have been hunting some of the day?

I didn't feel like getting out of bed this morning so we didn't go today :)

I've been moping around, because I haven't been able to go at all this season. My wife finally let me out, and after a 3.5 hour drive to the panhandle, my hunt consisted of a 35 minute stalk, and a 125 3/8 inch 10 point buck!

Wow sounds like a good (although short) hunt. One day I am going to go somewhere that I could try out a stalk on a deer. There is just to many leaves around here!

How good of a job does Paul's do? I live south of Bristow and have used Stubblefield's and the IGA in Stroud. Cost very much? Thanks.
Sorry about getting off topic.
