I seem to recall seeing a post about a shoot coming up on Dec 17th. If this is true could someone verify it for me? I would love to go and hope to get active after the first of the year, I want to observe for a little while first.
Also want to say what a pleasure it is to be here on this site, Mr. Brown, did you know Gary Mullins?

Are you wanting to shoot IDPA or IPSC?
IPSC is on the 13th, and I think that IDPA is on the 19th.
They are both very fun.
You'll do fine out there your first time, everyone will be glad to help you get started.
See you there.

Oil Capital IDPA is on Dec 17th.
I'll most likely be there. (barring any unforseen circumstances.)
I intend on teaching Eric Fuson a couple of things about match shooting.

What would I need to compete in a shoot other than pistol, ammo and holster, and what would I need to join if anything. I have wanted to do this for a long time, just don't know how to get started.
you need a pistol, holster,at least two mags (depending on what you will be shooting),at least 1 mag pouch (again,depending),150 rounds of ammo, match fee,eye and ear protection, and a cover garment.
Cover garment shouldn't be too hard to do this time of year. ;)

May I please have some directions to the range. I would be coming from Muskogee. What is the fee?

If you are in Tulsa some day, go by and see Eric (OPS) and he can explain it all...the only reason I say him is because he is the only one that I know of that works in a gun shop and has most of the thing there that you will need and can show you as well as tell you about what kind on holster and such that you will need...Hope to see you at the match...and JP...I and SOOOO looking foward to that lesson you will be teaching Eric...I will try to bring a video camera and get a video documentary of the whole thing for future reference....Tams

I said I would teach him a couple of things...didn't say it would be how to "win". ;)
But now that I think about it,he's probably already made all of *those* mistakes long before I started shooting. :)
I'll call a camera truce if you will...

Thanks JP. I thought for a moment it was something like "Obese Pistol Shooters" , in which case I would definately qualify. The shoot is on the 17th, what time is a good time to get there?

OPS is codename for that snyperc...what until you meet Eric and you will know what we are talking about...it is obscene that anyone can shoot that good and accurately... Mike Brown and all the others would fit into that category too...they are awesome to watch and learn from...you are in for a real treat...JP and I will show you how to ...... JP, what will I show him how to do?... Oh, I know,,, laugh at oneself when you try to shoot with you head firmly shoved up one's backside...;) :D
