This gun is really looking good to me! Heard anything good or bad on it? I'm not a 1911 type of guy but this one is different. Handled one today but would love to shoot one! Opinions?

Does he have the .45 or the 9mm?

I shot one when para was here. I was pleasantly surprised with it. The recoil wasn't as bad as I was anticipating. I had terrible luck with para and so has my dad. I personally would have a hard time buying another para gun.........

You've got several BBQ rigs. I've got to catch up to you.

Me? You seem to post pics of a new one every other day!! How many holsters all together do you have? Even the ones you don't use - compared to how many handguns

I'd have to go count.

Lets see:

Alessi PCH
Alessi Talon
VM2
Bulman TSAP
Don Humme PCH(?)
Alessi CQC/S

I think thats all.

I had a UCR and a Sidearmor. Sold them both. I think I like leather better.

None of these holsters are flashy BBQ rigs though. I need one with sharkskin!

G27
Versa Max 2
Mini-belt defender ( K & D Holsters)
Bianchi IWB (need to sell it)

Kahr MK9
Anaconda OWB (K & D Holsters)
Hidden Ally (Highnoon Holsters)
Mini-belt Defender (K & D Holsters - should be here anyday)

Walther PPK/S
OSU (donner gun leather)
Pocket Defender (K & D Holsters)

Those are the only ones I carry. I like to have an OWB and an IWB for each. I have a fobus paddle for my bedside Glock and its okay when I am in the yard - but I love leather too much!

I want the Alessi CQC/S pretty bad - but I really don't need it!! I would get one for the Walther (only one I don't have an OWB for) but no one has it in stock for it! Probably just as well!

I usually don't buy guns I have never tried or did alot of research on. But I saw this one and it felt real nice. It shoots great!! I was really happy with it! I think we will see a lot more Kahrs out there in the next couple of years unless Glock gets smart and makes some single stack 9mm and .380's.

Yes. I would buy a PM9 size glock in a second!!! That would be great.

I've heard great things about the mk9. I've handled them at the store and they are really nice. They are very small too. I've also been told that the steel kahr's are better than the plastic ones. I've been lucky, I got a good pm9. My dad bought a pm9 too and he's been very happy with his too.

I looked into these awhile back because they interested me too. Did some research and found more negative responses than positive. One guy I talked to had to send his .45 back 3 times.....para never got it right.

I'm not sure, I'd guess he has the 45 cause 9's aren't all that great.

To make a long story short, I had a para C7.45. It was sent back to para 4 times. They NEVER got the gun to work. My dad bought the same gun and they had consecutive serial numbers, which was cool. He sent his in at the same time as I did. It also came back 4 times and was never fixed. The store where we bought the guns was upset too, so they refunded both of us the price of the guns. I took my money and bought a G30 that was flawless.

I don't have any problems with the customer service though. They were very friendly and helpful when I talked to them. They just couldn't ever get the gun to work right.

I've heard good things about them. You are taking a risk buying a para though.

If I can choose, I won't get any 1911 that's less than 4 inches long. Just my 2cent. :)

I'm curious if the shorter ones will run better with 9mm. I'd love to get the Hawg in 9mm but want to make sure it works first.

My opinion is much like Chocobo's...
I stay wawy from any under 4"

You are correct. I read an article that the 1911 design just doesn't work well with 3 in gun. Too much has to happen in a very short period of time, and they just aren't real reliable.

Now, after saying that, I'm interested in Springfield Armory's new .45 gap 1911 subcompact. They say that the gun was made around the bullet. We'll see......

+1000 I had a kimber ultra carry that never was reliable, sold it and got a kimber compact with a 4" barrel that has been 100% since day one.

I have heard they aren't that good - but you always here the bad and not much from the ones that love them! So, "grain of salt"

If their pistols where as good as their LDA trigger, I would have a dozen of them!

J.P.
12-03-2005, 10:19 PM
I like the LDA trigger as well.
Part of the 1911 design that I don't like is the need for a safety sweep.
I think it could potentially complicate things in a violent encounter.
With proper training,it is probably a non-issue of course.

I'm really looking foward to firing a DAK Sig I think it could be one of the best pistolas out there (next to a glock).

J.P.

I have not actually fired one but i dry fired a couple and they were impressive indeed.
I don't recall what the trigger reset was like though.

I think it is supposed to be about 2lbs heavier than the normal pull. But I try not to ride the reset so it should'nt be that big of a deal.

The LDA trigger was great. I loved the looks, the feel, and everything about that pistol, it just wouldn't work or shoot! That was an expensive paper weight!

I would give para another chance as long as its the full-size gun. I have heard great things about their 1911SSP and LTC. Last year, the SSP was only $588, they raised the price this year to $699! I came very, very close to buying the SSP at $588, but didn't. I wish I had now. That was a great price. People seem to really like those.
