I seem to recall reading about a luminecent (sp?) paint that can be applied to sights. I don't want a scope, and can't afford one of those high dollar electronic jobs anyway (the rifle cost enough!). Has anyone ever hear of this paint or whatever it is?

Someone on here was talking about glo in the dark paint for sights a while back, I think it was either Watchmaker or Chevydriver. The tritium nite sights are not really that expensive. The paint has to be "charged up" before they glow, a process that will probably temporarily ruin your night vision. And also something that you won't have time to do if you wake up at night and "need" your rifle. The tritium sights glow strongly all the time and are ready to go when you are. If you are just looking for something fun to play with the paint is OK. If you are serious, go for the real thing.

I have used luminescent paint on several rifles and pistols. I really like the way it really helps in quickly aquiring a good sight picture. I use contrasting colors for the front and back sights. Not as good as Tritium, but a darned sight cheaper and easily re-applicable. If you need any more information, PM me.
