After experiencing the joy of the VM2 with my G23, I've been wondering how big I could go and still have the comfort and concealability. Could I go IWB with my G21? I don't know, I guess I'll have to find out :)

What's the largest weapon you've carried and still felt you were concealed?

Nothing says big like a Desert Eagle ;)

Glock 21, Steyr Gb, all sorts of stuff. Good Inside waistband, belt and Tshirt is all you need.

One of the guys in my squad carries a G21 in a Summer Special 2 off-duty.

He's about 5'10" and 170 pounds, so he's no big guy and it conceals just fine.

With a good IWB, I don't think a G21 would be a problem.

I've packed a G20 in a SS copy and currently carry a CZ75B IWB and OWB under a button up shirt or light jacket (for OWB) with nary a second glance. Course I'm fat.

You weren't the only one with that thought. I too just started carrying with a VM2. I've been shooting my (and your) G21 frequently and enjoying it.

Ruger P-89,
I would conceal it under a coat or jacket.

Glock G32C at this point in time. It's not hard to conceal at all.

After Christmas I plan on carrying my newest pistol concealed at least a few times before it gets warm outside. S&W Model 629 Classic 5".

IIRC, you can't carry anything larger than a .45 cal pistol. So no Deagle .50's or S&W .500 Mags:D

I usually carry a G17 in C-tac so I don't think a G21 would be out of the question.

Late to the party (thread) as usual. Sorry to revive a semi-old thread, I'm sure the original poster has probably gotten his question answered by now, but others new to the site might appreciate the additional info. I saw that most of you mentioned Glocks, so I thought I'd post since I carry something different. I carry a full-size 5" Dan Wesson / CZ Pointman-7 (see signature) 1911, all stainless in a VM2.

It conceals SO well, even on a giant such as myself (5' 6", 135 lbs, just call me Yao). I carry it every waking hour, every day. Even driving is now comfortable since I have gotten used to it, I hardly notice it, even with sport seats. I am going to purchase a quick on/off cross-draw holster for in-car time, but that is purely for access while seated, not comfort. I am VERY happy with the VM2 and love my gun. Because its thin, it conceals very well and fits my small hands like they were made together. Sure, its got weight, but I like that in a larger calibur, less recoil/muzzle flip. It works for me.

Best bet for anyone new to the idea of carrying is to go to a local range that has a wide selection of guns that you can rent. Use something different every time you go, or rent 2-3 each time also. Gun selection is a very personal choice, you have to find what works for you. My general rule is to carry the largest caliber I can shoot accurately and pick a gun that feels good in my hand. With small hands, that limits my choices, most of the double-stack type guns feel too big and I don't feel as confident with the grip. I spent many days at Tulsa Firearms, wearing out most of their rental guns. Plus it will give you the experience of having shot many different types and styles of guns, which you may need someday, if your gun is, for some unfortunate reason, not available when needed but another one is.

I think the largest handgun I've concealed is a G21.
I've also carried a 1911 and a Hi-Power.
Those are heavy but they are thin and more comfortable,IMO.
I really like Hi-Powers,it's just a matter of time before i get another one....
