My husband and I had looked at a Kel-tec for CC a while ago. I was going to look at them again and I find out Spartan won't carry them and Tulsa firearms will only order them due to "issues". What is your opinion on the gun and is there another alternative the same body size? I was shown the S&W .357 (ultra lite?) but it seems like it would be harder to hide than the thin Kel-tec? My sister has the .357 and says it is light enough. She never qualified on a semi-auto.
I am used to glocks & Kahr 9 would it be hard to switch to a revolver? More practice? Thanks Katharine

Oklahoma Police stocks the keltec. If money is not a problem I would go with the PM9. 9mm is a Lot better manstopper than .380. I agree that an auto is smaller and easier to conceal, and carries more ammo. I have never carried one of the .357 5 shot revolvers. The steel ones are heavy. Their recoil with magnum loads is OMG. I cant imagine firing one of the ulta lite. Personally I would go with a .38 lightweight. They are a less expensive and smaller. But honestly if you are used to a auto I would stick with it.

if you like the revolver the hammerless S&W 38's are great little guns and very easy to shoot
Model 638 Revolver, Model 442 Revolver
The price is$620.00 from S&W but you can get them for around $400

+1 on a 38. I carry a 357 taurus, and it is heavy. I would go with an ultralight 38spl hammerless or shrouded hammer if you are thinking revolver.

I had a Taurus 605 Titanium .357 (which was sooo light), but I quickly found out why you never want a light model when shooting .357. The recoil was HARSH to say the least. My hand was always sore for 3-4 days after shooting it. I used it for carry, but only with .38 ammo.
I eventually traded it in for the Bersa Thunder .380 and haven't been disappointed in the least. The Bersa ain't no Kel-Tec size wise, but you might take a look at it also. They carry them at Academy.

I've had the Keltec for several months now and find myself putting it in my pocket when leaving a lot more than any other pistol. The dimensions speak for themselves and it goes bang every time I pull the trigger.

we do stock kel tec .380s and after polishing the feedramp have had no trouble with them.i am out of stock right now but should have some in by the end of the week. i also have smith model 642 which is the airweight .38 which is aslo a great carry gun. the only issue i have with a airweight .357 is when you shoot it, its kinda like slapping a road sign at 60mphs.

OPS will treat you right. Eric and Jason are great guys. My last transaction with them was a transfer on a Kahr PM9. Mine is a dream to shoot and carry. It's a bit bigger than the Kel-Tec .380 you are looking at, but then again it is chambered for the 9mm round.

The Kel-Tec was my 1st gun. It was not my favorite. It is light, yes.... but it kicks too hard and doesn't have a safety.
It's definitely not a range gun by any means. Ouch, it will make your hand sore!
I bought it @ Spartan. They don't carry it anymore.

This is SoonerGlockGirl again (on my hubby's name). I also forgot to add that the slide is EXTREMELY HARD to pull back. I literally had to bend down in order to chamber the round. I changed over to the Glock 26 because it's MUCH EASIER to use and the slide/slide release are real easy to maneuver. It's also a real small gun (a lot more thick though). It's my choice at the moment. Oh yeah... and it's definitely an awesome range gun!

This is one thing I actually like about this gun (and my P9 Covert). I can pull the slide back ok, my wife can barley pull it back, and I'm pretty dang sure my kids (or any kids for that matter) can not pull the slide back. Granted, I keep the guns locked up, but if by some chance a kid were to get ahold of it they would not be able to chamber a round.

I'm a P-3AT fan, I bought an early model and despite initial feeding problems, a fractured frame (Not from firing, just a flaw. Still, it caused a failure to reset) and re breaking it in after the HC slide exchange, it runs great now. I've shot nearly 2K rounds through it, mostly WWB and Santa Barbara.
If yours works fine out of the box, or fine after tinkering, it's a great pocket pistol. Nothing out there compares to it's light weight, compact size and price. It's the gun to carry when you can't carry a gun. For those that carry inside a bag of some sort, it's important to prevent the pistol from dissapearing under other objects. Not much help in a crisis if you have to search to find it.
If anything, I'm getting lazy. Instead of dressing around my larger pistols, I can drop the P3 (In it's K&D hip pocket holster) in my pocket and go. Anemic caliber?, yes, but I have no illusions about any of my pistols knocking anyone over.

I carry a Kel-Tec P-3AT everyday in a FIST Kydex pocket holster. My ammunition is Fiocchi 95 gr. FMJ's. The stuff feeds well, recoil is very manageable, and there is very little muzzle flash. My gun is drab green/hard chrome--1st generation. :)

I Have Observed Some P3at Kel Tec Pistols That Needed Extractor Work, However Is Is A Very Good Option For A Ccw. The Most Important Firearm Is The One You Have With You!!!!!
