Any other duck hunters in here?

I've been missing it the past couple weeks, I can't wait to go on Saturday morning. My favorite thing about the drive out to the property we hunt at is listening to the crazies call in to some AM talk show about aliens and "pure evil", lol. Makes the early morning trip much more fun.

I have never duck hunted. What are some good areas in the state? It would have to be public land since I don't own/lease/have friends with good duck land.

There are a few decent places on Oolagah lake.I use to hunt in the peanut fields around Bray(15 or 20 miles east of Marlow),it would take about 20 minutes to get your limit.Wish i knew of some private land to hunt quail and ducks on.

I might consider hunting duck if I knew how to make them taste better than skunk. I can eat almost anything but I just cant handle duck :puke:

We always find some other folks hunting ducks nearby to give ours too. My wife isn't big on cooking duck and neither is my hunting buddy's woman. I haven't really ever had duck that was prepared very well, so to me it has always kinda tasted like a$$ as well.

Went yesterday morning and we got 4 ducks total between the 2 of us. I let my buddy claim one of them, even though I know I dusted it cleanly. The other 3 were all me without question.

He taught me a new way to prepare them. You soak the breasts in saltwater for a day, take them out, marinate them in your favorite marinade for several hours, then wrap them in bacon and grill them. I haven't tried it this way yet but I'm definitely going to soon.

I am A newbe duck hunter with no ducks under my belt. One day when we go hunting it would be nice to get a duck. Maybe next season.
