Well folks the scores are in!
Looks like everyone except for Jay senior and Eric Fuson, took a royal ass spanking from yours truly. :pokeowned

Hell, some were even too ashamed to turn in their score sheets (you know who you are :nutkick: )

I had a great time today,it was a really fun match!

(I'm not exactly sure how to format the scores from the document so that's why they are posted this way)

Well it looks like someone ate thier Wheaties this morning!

I wish I could have been there, but stuff happens. I'm busy playing nurse for the wife, damn her and her "necessary" surgery.

J.P.
12-17-2005, 11:50 PM
Actually I had two fried eggs with ketchup,Jimmy Dean "light" sausage,Coke (a-cola) and Skoal.
That my friends is how you lay the smack down.
:)

Hope the wife gets to feeling better soon!

No I didn't...and there's a good reason for that.
You see,it doesn't make me look as good to mention that.

Looks like a lot of previous smack talk was settled.

The revolver and never having shot it before doesn't fly Jr. :wink2:

That sounds like the "I wouldn't have died if I'd checked my parachute" line. :nono1:

Now that you are getting good scores now you have to learn the next step....consistency.

F16mickey
12-18-2005, 10:17 PM
By the way J.P. what pistol did you use?

J.P.

I can shoot cosistantly when I practice which is something I haven't been getting near enough of lately.
Technically,I fired around a whopping 200 live rounds in the last 2 months prior to this match. :nolike:
I listened to a few things Mike has talked about and actually 'practiced' without so much as firing a round.

Anyway,I just sorted out some mental issues and got really confident.
I knew I was going to shoot well and I did.
I did have a couple of turd stages though and I shot far too many points down on stages that I *should* have done better on but I didn't let it bother me.
I shot fast, ran fast, and had clean mag changes.(mostly)
The thing that improved the *most* was my target transitions, again, thanks to Mike for his advice on that.

Plus it was cold and we had a lower turnout than usual....that definitely had a hand in it. ;)

Another note: Cold weather seems to make some people fall apart but I don't have a problem with it.I'd rather shoot in freezing rain than in 110 in the shade heat anyday.

I was shooting a stock G17 with Meprolight night sights (which I dislike) out of a ReadyTactical holster, and Ready Tactical mag pouches.

dude... the cold weather sure made my reloads worse! and made my skin get cut easier... ouch.

Hey Mike, what is your best reload with a revolver? Just looking for a goal...

I have no idea. I really don't test those skills out of context. I only do that in dry-fire.

What I mean by that is that I don't track numbers of individual skills since it doesn't matter how fast you perform a skill outside of a stage since you are focusing on doing just that skill when you isolate it.

If I want to work a particular skill, I do it without a timer and do it until I can't get it wrong in dry-fire. Then I find that it works great for me at a match.

Don't get hung up on who has the fastest draw, fastest re-load, fastest transition, etc when its being timed in isolation.

I GUARANTEE that at least half a dozen of the people that I beat regularly are faster with these individual skills in isolation than I am.

It just doesn't mean anything so I don't practice it.

BTW,that "one guy" emailed me his score and asked me as a friend not to post it. :)
