1) Treat all firearms as though they are always loaded.
2) Never allow the muzzle to cover (point at) anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until your sights are on target and you are ready to fire.
4) Be sure you have an acceptable target, know its surroundings, and what is beyond.
5) ALWAYS be sure the barrel and action are clear of obstructions.
6) ALWAYS know the target and backstop before firing.
7) ALWAYS store guns and ammunition separately and out of reach of children.
8) ALWAYS know your firearm and required ammunition. Read the instruction manual.
9) NEVER point a gun at anything you do not want to shoot.
10) NEVER shoot at a flat, hard surface or at water.
11) NEVER use alcoholic beverages or drugs (even legal ones) before or while handling firearms.
