Did anyone else notice that over the New Year weekend Academy raised their prices on Win AA target 12 gauge ammo? It was approximately ~$3.80 a box and now it's selling for right around ~$4.80. I spoke with one of the guys who works there and he said that due to China increasing the demand for the basic components the prices had gone up. When i asked if this was a short term bubble and if prices could be expected to go back down, he said not likely and that in all probability, their would be another round of price increases during the spring.

I haven't noticed the other manufactures increasing their prices yet. Will this happen soon? Was this guy full of it or was he on target for the information he was supplying?

I asked my Magic 8 Ball if he was full of it.

"It is Decidedly So"

Yeah, that's what i was kinda leaning towards considering that i didn't see an increase in the other stuff. But confirmation from the eight ball is always best.

Ammo prices across the board will go up this summer. I don't even need a magic 8 ball for that one! I am stocking up on 5.56, .223 and .45ACP (Yeah, you know me.) every check.

Bluedot, the store is Sportsman's Warehouse. That is where I work. I don't want to put in a shameless plug here, but you might compare us with some of the other stores. Again, the manufacturers are telling us between 6 and 20% increases this year.

Hoov, ya'll got any deals on buck shot of any variety? I got a beretta 1201 that just won't eat anything less. Birdshot doesn't have enough something to cycle it to its full potential. Buckshot you can have 5 hulls in the air at the same time!

As the cost of oil increases so will the cost of retail goods. Especially retail goods with plastic components...time for a return to paper hulls?

Hey ssgrock3, what dram are you shooting? For practice the Federal Estate is pretty good and cheap too.
