Primary (it counts if it leans against my nightstand, right? ;) )
Mossberg Maverick 88 w/ 18 1/2" barrell, Xenon tactical light (can't remember what brand) and loaded w/ 3 #4 buck and 2 00 buck.

Secondary
G19 w/ XS Big Dot night sights and loaded with Ranger T's. This was just my carry piece, but I like it so much I thought I'd give it a go as the nightstand gun.

If you get the adapter, you'll have to post it on here for me. I have come close to getting one, but I've never gotten around to it. I've never heard anything good or bad about it.
Anything becomes a target pistol once my dad gets a hold of it. :wink2:

Yes, it was nice to meet you as well. Too bad you didn't come over to the rifle range, you could have met Dr.Baker and KAF.
If you go shooting again, just post it on the forum, thats what we usually do. I've met several guys doing that and I've got to shoot some sweet guns that I normally wouldn't have been able to shoot.
I have met some really cool people from this site. I haven't met any weirdos yet!! :wink2:
The 6 month SAC, is very tempting! I have bought several guns using that plan, and its worked out well. I have paid off the gun before the time was up, so I didn't have to pay all the interest.
I think you and my dad both got a good deal today! He's been wanting a 19 for a long time. He already has several .45's, and he just doesn't shoot the 220 very much. It doesn't do much good sitting in the safe, so I'm glad it found a good home. I've got to get mine out and shoot it more often too, but the 9mm is so much cheaper to shoot!
Boldkharma
01-21-2006, 10:06 PM
Will do!! Seems like a great way to meet people as I don't know anyone here. I'm glad he's liking the 19, it wasn't doing any good sitting in my safe either.

Well since you guys are keeping this thread alive I'll pose my questions.....
1. Are your guns actually on the nightstand (for those that have a handgun) or are they in drawer, or in a quick access safe, etc...?
2. Do you have kids?
Boldkharma

Mine is usually on the nightstand, in a holster. And I do have kids. They all have been taught about gun safety and I lock the bedroom door at night.

I'm assuming you don't leave it there during the day either and that your kids don't come into your room at least once a night.

My 12ga is leaning against the nightstand all day every day with 5 in the tube. I do not leave a shell in the chamber. The 19 sits on my stand at night and on my hip during the day. :)
I have one girl (7). She is very knowledgable about gun safety and I trust her 100% to leave things alone. I keep the shotty unchambered just for my peace of mind during the day when I'm not at home.

Do you leave it sitting out when her friends come over to play?
pete156
02-13-2006, 11:11 PM
Her friends don't come in. Our house is pretty small and they either play outside or they go to their house. If they played inside, that would be an entirely different story.

That is my worry about having a loaded gun not with me at all times. I live with my parents (for now) and have younger brothers/sisters. Whom I trust, but its who else might come over and invade my room that makes me worry. Especially since I am not at home much.

It may sound funny, but all my "go to" guns are single action autos. None of my little kids are strong enough to rack the slide or cock the trigger. I prefer the peace of mind that type of weapon gives me. I never have a cocked and locked pistola out of my sight. Nice Springer SK1911!!!
