Me and a buddy are thinking about meeting up for a fishing trip. He lives in Lexington, KY and I'm in Norman. We would prefer something that is relativley in the middle but this isn't a big requirement. Being affordable is a priority as we only have about 5 months to plan and save for it. We will be going around the middle of May. We thought about going trout fishing in MO. Any advice on MO or other suggestions?

If you can get him to drive alittle farther. I would go to the White River below Bull Sholls Dam. Great Fishing and can get a guide for about 100.00 plus lunch for 8 hrs on the water. Pretty good fishing from the banks and if the wateris is down good wading Lots of Big trout, Rainbow and German Browns.
Hope this helps.

I used to live in MO, so I might be able to help.
Are you wanting to get a guide?
What kind of fishing do you like?

We could do a guide. We may get one for a day to get a feel for the area not real sure though. Around here I'm a usually bass/crappie farm pond fisher. We are open to just about anything though. Main reason MO was brought up is that it is basically in the middle and I had heard the trout fishing was pretty good.

We've about decided somewhere that offers camping would be the best so we could cut cost.

I've been looking into Bennet Spring. How do the other trout parks compare?

www.greersferrylake.org on the Little Red. Been a few moons since I have been, but it was nice. Just a thought.

What about Crab Orchard Lake, near Carbondale in Illinois?
