What's the catch?

What's the deal with .223 Monarch ammo at academy? It's $2.86 for 20. That seems like a good price, but I figure there has to be a catch. I've read about it on the net, it sounds like it is the same as the Barnaul ammo. What do you guys think, should I stay away from it?

I've shot about 700-800 rounds of it. It has steel in the bullet jacket so you can't shoot it at ranges that have magnet Nazi's. It worked great for me in an AR-15 and Mini-14. It seemed accurate enough at 30 yards (I won't discuss where I was it before the magnet Nazi's got me :-) and I don't remember any misfires. Had no issues with it at all.

I've used it before with no problems.

My biggest complaint is that it is not accepted at some indoor ranges.

Is it ok to use it Ar since it is painted ammo?

Its good ammo. I use it a lot. Not as accurate as the Federal M193 I prefer, but its good traing ammo. It has been 100% reliable in my Armalite.
