Do impact weapons have a place with the non-LEO?
I carry flashlights that can double as a Kubotan but that's about the extent of anything that resembles an impact weapon (beisdes edged) that I carry.
Is there realy any legitimate use for something like an expandable baton in the non-LEO world?
Personally I do not think something like that would be a good option because most of us lack the training.
Thoughts?

I don't think so.

From a LEO point of view, I would say no. Just for the fact of training and civily when you need to show why you chose one type of weapon over the other in a situation. Less choices = Less explanation. If you are already carring a blade and a gun no need to way yourself down with something else.

I wouldn't by any means consider one for everyday carry but i used to carry an ASP while jogging in rural areas for dog protection.
I carry OC for that now.

I have an ASP, and I sometimes carry it at work. We have a "no weapons" policy. However, I'm not about to walk 100yds to my car in the middle of the night without some type of SD tool. JMHO.

Do I have training with it? No, my H2H skillset is simply the tae kwon do I took as a teen, and a little tai chi, which i quit doing close to a year ago. But I'm hoping if I can get a couple of good blows to the head, or limbs if need be, I can get them on the defensive where they might flee, if they don't want to, I would be more than happy to break an arm if i can get ahold of it.
Hell, if somehow they manage to take me down, I'll bite, I'm grabbing those genitals, I'm going for those eyeballs. I wonder what OC feels like INSIDE the eye socket......I wonder.........
