Do you have any experience with these? I have a commander length slide 1911 I like and am looking for any pros or cons on these. Thanks
Randall
Forgot to tell you this will be for concealed carry.

I know you didn't ask my opinion, BUT, I'll give it to you.
DESANTIS.
'nuff said
I'm generally a rentention kind of guy, I do own an open top rig for a glock 17, but it was a gift, and a darn nice one at that.
I think you are actually paying for more than a name. I think you are actually buying a better product. IMHO, YMMV. Just my opinion, having owned both brands.

Yes, they are made right here. I have only owned 2 Humes, and they were the JIT slide rigs, and they were ok, although not the best at concealing. they fail to really pull the weapon in and alot it the ability to hug the body.
I also felt that the leather or stitching was good, the Desantis really has good, firm, thick leather and excellent stitching.
However, for 20$ to 25$ for a JIT, it does beat the hell out of any nylon rig in the price range.
they are the best for the money. that is for sure.

The Hume is a nice rig, and worth what you pay for it. I like supporting local businesses, so that would probably get my vote.
You might check Looper Leather in OKC. I cant remember if they make off duty/concealment holsters, but if they do, Id bet that they are top notch. Best leather work around, IMO.

Also, the JIT is a great holster, but not Hume's best at concealment. Hus IWBs pull in and conceal much better.

I have 2 Don Hume H721 belt slide holsers. They are great concealed carry holsters. This holster has a cant to it, has good retention, and pulls high and tight to the body. It is very comfortable for all day carry, and can be concealed with a long shirt or jacket. I bought mine at H&H for around $30 a piece. You also need a good belt to carry like this comfortably. Go to Looper Leather and get their kydex lined belt for $30. Both of these products are high quality at an excellent price. I have a H721 for a Glock 26, and one for a Glock 32. I stole this pic from Don Hume's website.
Desantis has good holsters also, but I have not tried one...

You really can't go wrong with either.
My personal favorite OWB is the Galco Avenger but that is a personal preference issue.
The most important factor is that whichever you choose, make sure you'll actually carry it.

Great, oh Michael, you need to tell this to my mother. She won't listen to me.
She says her purse is just fine. I think she would be better of not carrying a gun at all if she is going to keep it in her purse.

Thanks everybody for the input. I am going to look at the Avenger too as suggested by Mike Brown.
