Hey question for everyone what are the rules and regulations of shooting outdoors, not on a range but on government hunting land. Cant afford to pay Tulsa Firearms and havent gotten the money together for Tulsa gun Club. So i found some land that had no tressapassing signs and had a creek way out in the country and went to town on the creek bank. Am i doing anything illegal or is there any regs. i can read to lighten this question for me?

did it have NO Tresspasing signs or there were no signs prohibiting trespassers?
Really the main thing is make sure you know whats behind where you are shooting. IE don't shoot into some trees as you could kill someone or hit someones property. If you know that nothing will be damaged where you are shooting from and its not prohibited for you to be there. Don't leave a mess and have a good time. Pick up your trash and don't shoot glass is about all I can say.
Oh almost forgot NO ALCOHOL when you are shooting..

Yeah if it says "NO TRESSPASSING" don't shoot there.
You might have to ask the department of wildlife about shooting on public grounds.

Just keep in mind that some people would not be pleased to catch someone shooting on or into their property without permisson. Fences and signs don't change the fact that it is owned by someone and they can control the actions there. Just be aware that if you stop and shoot somewhere, that there is a chance that one day the owner could roll up on you and not be happy. Some country folk might want to trade you lead.
Just remember that some land owners have to deal with people tresspassing (people hunting and fishing), littering, etc. and may just be ready to pounce on the next one, which might turn out to be you.

I agree with what 350 said. I thought you had went to some public hunting land or something. It you think its private I would stay off of it wether its posted or not.

I've lost countless acers of hunting do to individuals that either did not ask permission or was very disrespectfull to the land owner ie litter shooting around livestock ect. please get permission if it is private land.

NO i an respectfull all brass gets collected and am enviro freindly. I found a couple of nice tree stands on the property, but i would do nothing to mess up there land. My brother in law went to the neighboring house of the land and asked if they knew of owners and they said they thought it was owned by Sunoco, it is all there rigs out there. We will see and as always we will becareful. Thanks for all the info

Tulsa firearms really isn't that expensive the more I think about it. Its a really nice indoor range, that I'm sure cost big bucks to build. Its $65 for me to rejoin, and $10 each time I go(which is what most ranges anywhere charge) I can go shoot when its snowing, raining, etc.. as well. I am thinking of getting the $450 membership and my family and I would never have to pay to go shoot. Which would definately pay off 10 fold, and I would shoot ALOT more. Wonder if I could afford the ammo though lol!

But i dont go and shoot alot, I want to but funds do not allow me too, so Tulsa Gun club is awesome only a dollar to go and a dollar for your guests as well plus it has a 3D range for archery and i shoot bow sometimes too...I just didnt like any of the guys in there and they didnt like when i asked why and the heck there G23 was 100$ more than anywere else.
I'm of the opinion that if you have to ask,you should probably err on the side of caution and avoid shooting there.
