This is a very special gun to me.
I only take her out about once a year and put one or two mags through her.
I still have the original grips and thumb safety but they are not in the pics.
When my Grandad was in Belgium in WW2,he didn't have a pistol so he wrote my grandmother and told her to send him one.
a couple of months later,.she got a letter saying "nevermind about the pistol,I found one"
He had been playing poker with some of the guys in the French Underground and bet a box of cigarettes. He won the hand which included this 1921 commercial model COLT Government.
He carried it through the remainder of the war and it even saw some action.
When he passed away,I got the gun.
My grandad always had some very cool war stories.
I miss him very much.
anyway.....
