Mike, to go along with J.P.'s question do you have an opinion on retention holsters for civilian concealed carry OWB? would retention be a good thing or just something that could make it harder to draw in a stressful situation?

Figures....The moderator can't even use a search function.
;)

I'll give my opinion on your question,F16Mickey.....
I think that for concealed carry whether OWB or IWB a retention device would be more trouble than it's worth.
If we carried openly, then I think the extra retention would be a definite plus.
(unlike the older reserve deputy I saw in the post office wearing a Glock in a standard Fobus :nolike: )

JP, its unfortunate, but a lot of cops carry in a Fobus, Uncle Mikes, or something similar.

If its concealed, I think additional retention features are just superfluous.

The concealment and an individual's retention training are much more important than any mechanical device.

Thank you Mike, I thought of this question because I noticed someone unintentionally "flash" their weapon. I thought if I was a criminal I just found a easy way to get a weapon (it was a kydex OWB). I didn't know if just using more situational awareness would totally solve the problem.

Kydex OWB is the worst choice for carry. (outside of IDPA)
