Anyone know any outdoor non range spots to shoot...

Around the Tulsa area anywhere? I have a nephew that my father and I want to take out to shoot cans with his 22. Father has a Berreta 9mm and I have a .40 S&W that we will be taking along too. I just want to know of a safe and legal spot to shoot.

Any help will be appreciated.

We have range memberships but want to let the kid have a chance at shooting outdoors without a range.

thats a great question!! When I went to OSU we used to go to my friends dads house. We shot up all sort of stuff out there - way more fun than a range!

I have heard the public range in Okmulgee is kind of like what you're talking about. The public range in Wagoner is basically open area with a couple of shooting tables. A true plinker haven.

I know of people who shoot just South of Norman down by the river. So where they shoot is just about 1 mile West of Tri-City gun club along the river. PM me and I will give you better directions if you want them.

Aww come on....that wasn't too mean was it? I was trying to be as polite as I could to a new member.

I live one block north of Reno Av and just west of Sooner RD. I have heard gunfire at my house. I asked some buddies at work and they said turn on the dirt road right at the railroad tracks just west of Sooner RD on NE 10th street. Head north along the creek and N Canadian River there. I drove through there and did find a few shotgun shells along the road. The Del City limits is NE 10th street so the area is not in Del City. Down in the riverbed is a nice bank area that should be safe to shoot in but don't know the absolute legality of it.

Anyone else shot there?
