The Praesidium Group will be offering its Close Quarters Tactics course May 13-14 at the Sand Springs Police Range.

Also included will be a 4 hour block on Edged Weapons the night before on May 12.

CQT is a hands-on training experience where students will become familiar with highly adrenalized states through the use of force on force exercises and role-playing. Heavy emphasis is placed on the seamless integration of empty hand, less lethal, and lethal weapons/firearms in the context that citizens will use them for self-defense.

Students will also train in the use of de-escalation, avoidance, and escape strategies.

This is the only training experience of its type in this part of the country and one of very few available to non military/LEO.

The course is being hosted by TDSA Tulsa and registration will be conducted through their office.

For more information and to register, contact Marshall Luton at marshallluton@gmail.com

See you there.

I have signed up for the CQT course and I was wondering what equipment is required? I see on the Praesidium group website that it has equipmatn required for the course, are these the current requirments or have the requirmants changed? For the eged weapons block what style of trainers will we be using (Ka-bar TDI ect. ect.)? also should we use the firearm that we normaly carry or should we use a larger weapon for ease of training?

For the edged weapons portion, use a trainer version of whatever you carry.

If you don't have a trainer, we'll have some extras.

As far as firearms go, bring whatever you carry. If you carry something different but have a carry holster for a Glock 17/22/31, bring it because all the simmunition guns are G17's.

As far as other equipment, the info on the website about covers it.

If you have any other questions, just give me a call or email.

See you there.

OUTSTANDING!!! Out of fairness I will wait until September to give those of you who haven't taken this class a chance to sign up...but after that if there are open slots my wife and I are signing up to take it again. THIS COURSE IS THAT GOOD!
