Ok Michael or anyone else that wants to chime in. What is the Rogers/Surefire technique? I see that often when looking at surefire flashlights and see there is a piece of rubber on these flashlights. Can someone explain this? Or post a link to a site with images preferably and an explination of this technique.
Thanks

It is a two-handed flashlight technique that is intended to be used with tailcap-button flashllights.
This technique looks much like a cigar-hold. You hold the light between your index and middle fingers or middle and ring fingers of your support hand and then grip the pistol normally (or as normally as this allows).
It does allow reasonable accuracy but I do not recommend this or any other two hand flashlight technique because of poor context in terms of how flashlights are used and overall lack of flexibility in the two handed holds.
If you cannot shoot one-handed, a weapon-mounted light makes far more sense than any of the two hand holds.
The neck index technique makes more sense than any other flashlight technique.

Care to draw a diagram to explain what this is?

The z2 really makes this technique work for me. The thin body lets me use much of my weak hand to support the other. The key is to find a good index in the grip and lock 'er in there tight.

yes, the z2 is perfect for the rogers technique. the z2 is probably the best of the compact personal size surefires. through a p61 in that bad boy, and you are ready to go, for 20 minutes...
