Took my little girl out yesterday to try out the Crickett and the thing functioned flawlessly of course.

My problem is with the fact that it's got a rear peep sight instead of standard notch like she got used to on the Winchester 67. It took her quite a few shots to starts hitting target even with them, so how can I get to better aim with the peeps. She isn't terribly steady, which doesn't help the situation.

Out of 20 shots or so, she hit the target 3 times. Which is much worse than she did with the standard sights.

Since I can't see what her sight picture looks like when she pulls the trigeer, I guess I'm needing some pointers on how to get her to aim properly and what not.

This may be a bad idea, but I'll throw it out anyway.

Have you thought about drawing a picture on paper of what it should look like lined up?

I had considered it, but hadn't done it yet.

I did make a circle with my thumb and index finger then took my index finger from the other hand and put it behind in the right place to show her how it should look, but it didn't seem to improve her shot at all. Even on the 3 shots I could find, they were about 8" high and 6" to the left. The rest of the shots went over the target or hit near the edge of the back board I was using.

Ah, and I've got another question for you while I'm at it. I just installed those ghost ring sites on my Maverick and it looks just like a peep sight setup. Are ghost rings sights and Peep sights the same thing then?

Drawing a picture is the best way, in my experience.

Another alternative is this. Take a piece of paper, and cut a circle in it. Tjis is your rear sight. Take another, alternativel colored piece, and cut it to resemble the front. She can align them on the bench, and then translate that to the gun.
