I'm going to H and H tomorrow to test out a couple of new toys. Who all can make it?

Stepper, you gonna bring that new 34?
AresV, I'll show you mine if you show me yours. AR's that is.

I work ALL day.

I ordered some Dawson front sights and some heine rear sights for my 34. I got tired of waiting for H&H to get some in. I've been asking for 3 weeks now. I hope to have Chris at H&H put them on for me, so I'm going to be ready to test it out soon!

I shot the 34 at the plinking range about a week ago and did pretty good at first, then it just went downhill from there. Strange..... I want to get to where I can knock that steel down as fast as I can pull the trigger. One of these days, I'll get there........

I don't have a time set yet. I'll go whenever it's convenient for the majority.

When is a good time for you bratch?

I've got a 10 am pickup in Moore so after that. I could probably make it around 11am. If that works. Morning would probably be better for me so it doesn't kill my entire day.

Any special request?

The earlier the better for me.

Special request....... Do you have any bolt action guns or any battle rifles in .308?

Anybody got a request from DrBaker's vault?

I was hoping to try out my new RRA AR15, but my rear sight didn't show up today.:nolike:

I've got a Cetme, a JLD, and a Savage Scout in .308.

You can try my Troy rear if you just want a rear sight to use

Excellent. Bring the Troy. I just want to make sure the new AR functions appropriately. I've been taking my Sand Box AR lately and haven't had a chance to try the new one.:selfangel

Anything from your list would be cool. Just pick what you might like to shoot.

I got another OD Glock today. I'll bring it as well.

So, Dr.Baker, how is the AR building going? Are you going to quite your day job to start making AR's???

I might quit my day job, but it won't be to make ARs. I'm about ready to retire.

I'll admit that I'm really hooked on them right now. If you need any help building one, I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.:thumb:

I'll grab a few things to bring.

I'm guessing we'll plan on 11?

DrBaker

Sounds good. I'll see you at 11.

SIG and RRA, if you can make it earlier, you are more than welcome to join us. Anyone else?

Sounds good. See you there. Small chance I may be running behind but I'm not planning on it.

I've got the AR BUG big time, again! (Seems to happen every year)

I really want one of those S&W ar's, but I'm going to be smart, and pay some bills this year instead of buying guns.

I saw a couple links on glocktalk about buying AR uppers and lowers. This guy had a link for an upper from one company, then a lower from a different company. Put them together, and you have a great AR for about $700!!

I'm the kind of guy that would just walk into a gunstore and just buy the whole thing (and pay more), and just be done with it instead of ordering from different places, paying shipping, and then putting it together.

Do you recommend building them or just buying them stock and adding to them?

Mine's still under construction:D I've got most of the parts, just haven't had time to install some of them. Still hunting a couple of things next weekend at Wannemacher's.

I won't be able to make it tomorrow because we are having an open house. We had one today and had a few interested parties stop by. Hopefully someone will make us an offer tomorrow and I can spend next weekend looking around in the Tulsa area for my new casa (and going to THE show of course). This house selling thing is a PITA.

Not Doc but my take.

All depends on what you want out of the rifle. If you have very precise specs it is better to build one. If there is a certain barrel, forearm, sight etc that you have to have build it to your specs and not waste the time on trading out factory parts.

If you just want a general rifle its easier to just buy one and won't cost you a while lot more.

I put mine together kinda. Took the pins out of the lower put the upper on and put the pins in;)

I wasn't wanting anything too fancy I have a RRA mid upper and a Bushy lower.

Me and Surpip went yesterday. They are doing work on the pistol range so it was closed. Might call before you go. We went pretty early and still had to be put on a waiting list to shoot on the rifle range because that's all that was open.:nolike:

Doc,

Missed you somehow.

I got there early to test out my new G19. I wanted to put several hundred through it just to start getting it ready for carry duty. I showed up about 40 minutes early and started blasting through the 9mm to get it out of the way.

I waited about another 20 minutes after 11am, but didn't see you anywhere. I thought something came up and maybe you wouldn't be able to make it.

What time did you get there?

I was the only person in the rifle side.

I ended up BSing with sumoj275 for about an hour so I was running abit behind. I got there about 11:20-11:30. There were 2 guys shooting a pump 22 rifle and a XD on the rifle range and me. I shot until about 1 probably.

The Ranger low recoil buck is some cool stuff.

Are you talking about the Ranger for a 12 gauge? I noticed somebody was selling it for $2.75 box on glocktalk. I didn't know it was even available.

Yup; figured I needed to pattern my 870. It was the the 2 3/4" 9 pellet reduced recoil. It felt about like 7 1/2 shells to me in terms of recoil. It was the only buck I patterened but it was keeping the pellets in the 10 ring on the B27 at about 10 yards.

I picked it up at the Tulsa show last year for cheap.

SIG and RRA and myself were on the pistol range with my MAC. First time SIG and RRA shot a FA. One big Sh*t eating grin on his face.

I would have wandered over if I knew you guys were there. I haven't shot a FA either. It wasprobably better that I didn't though then I have no temptations.

Me too... sometimes I feel like :nutkick:

I'm all good, I was enlisted on submarines for 12 years. Went to OCS 5 years ago, now I am an Aviation MAINTENANCE Officer. When I came to the aviation community I went to VAQ-131 and deployed on the Constellation. I've only been here 1 1/2 years and after this tour... :bolt:
