Did you go? If so, what did you think of the "rally"? I thought about going and waving my AMERICAN FLAG!!!!! But I know I would have gotten pissed and probably got myself in trouble.

It really pisses me off to see the Mexican flag being used in the USA and then the ILLEGAL PEOPLE talking about their "rights".

So, this is how it went: We got there about 1130. Lot's of traffic, both vehicles and pedestrian. I saw some walking from as far as bricktown, a mile and a half south of the capitol. Several state troopers for traffic control, one on bicycle. Many more US flags than mexican or other S.A. countries. I got the impression that LULAC may have intentionally set it up this way. Some individuals passing out the small, made in china US flags.
Yeah, they planned this one like a slick-willie op. A mariachi band played "Oklahoma". The Pledge of Allegiance was spoken. Spoken by the speaker at the podium and by me. no one else that was in eye or ear shot anyway. The national anthem was sung by a woman at the podium and me. These two items got me some curious, but not hostile looks. The man at the podium advised citizens who were not registered to vote to do so at the Demo party table and those that were not yet citizens not to try and register as it would endanger their status. There were several black "leaders" present that spoke to the crowd.
Overall, the mood was calm. I did not see any hateful signs and there was no hostile vibe. several news crews were present along with numerous photographers. I spoke with one from the Oklahoman while on the capitol steps. The LULAC speaker told the crowd they were estimated to be about 5,000 people. I have no idea, but it was a big crowd. there was also a OKC PD helo orbiting overhead.
According to OKC's News9, there were 10K people at the rally, but that there were folks that drove in from Texas and Arkansas.
There will be a counter-rally at the capitol tomorrow....:thumb:
