I prefer Eagle's fannypacks over any other brand.
There are other good ones but I have used mine for years when going to the gym or running.
With a j-frame Smith, you shouldn't have any difficulty with it.

I carry a S&W 640-1 in a Survival Sheath Chest Holster. It's absolutely great. It's even good for dress when you can wear a tie to help cover the bulge on your chest. I mountain bike with mine. It's never come out of the holster and mine's the version that carries with the butt down.
I would like to offer a request that from this point forward,we refer to them as "Waist packs".
I guess I just have hangups about the word "fanny"...

I have been looking for something to use for bike riding - been trying to avoid the "fanny" waist packs - but will probably have to go to them. The chest dohickie looks cool but when you just want a t-shirt - wouldn't work too well.
Whoaaa! Two things should scare the crap out of you. One, is that YukonGlocker mentioned jogging. The other is that okie mentioned "a bulge on your chest." Now, okie of crosstimbers, I know it probably doesn't apply, but that is a little too Brokeback! They might start calling you okie of cross dressing.:rotflmao:

I have the ActionPak from Action Direct. It is a chest pack with a velcro closure for the hidden compartment. I can fit my XD9SC (subcompact) in it, but not my full size XD. It has a zippered compartment up front that is perfect for wallet, keys and spare mag. I have ridden up and down Riverside Drive in Tulsa with it on, and I don't think anyone raised alarm.
Blackhawk makes the Sahara Strider, but it is kind of complicated with all its folding flaps. It will hold my full size XD vertically, where the ActionPak carries horizontally.
The best part of both is that they can be adjusted so they don't bounce.
I hope that we are still talking about your keys!

Believe it or not, I used to run 4-6 miles every day. And that was just a warm up!!! If I could get my butt moving and do that now:lookaroun

How about we just call them Fast Action Gun bags!

If you use a Fast Action Gun bags (fanny pack) you might want to sew a patch on it so it don’t scream gun as much.

No one notices this except other CCW holders and cops and you don't have to worry about them.

It works fine between two t-shirts Poke.
I don't think the Fast Action Gun bag acronym works for me either! YukonGlocker, you used to run that far?! Holy turf toe, that would kill me! Hats off to you! My knees would be the size of grapefruits if I tried that. I have to bike or exercycle to keep my girlish figure! I can do about a mile on the treadmill and that is it. Kind of ironic for a guy who is on his feet all day and walks all day at work.:faint:

Actually, the bulge resembles something out of Star Trek more than anything you'll find on a Brokeback Mountaineer.:greetings
 That is pretty funny! I can see it now; "Mr. Sulu, set your colostomy bag on stun.":uberblast

Did somebody say they found some Fast Action Fun Bags for sale? Naah, the wife would kill me.
How about we just call them Fast Action Gun bags!
Nice try.

;)
that's actually what we do call them.
I still prefer it to 'fanny'.

Just be aware of the British colloquialism. Fanny=a woman's, er...you know.
And maybe I'm doing it wrong, but there's nothing fast about my Galco. Of course once I get rid of this gut I'll be able to access it quicker. Just can't seem to get it to ride high enough. Ah well, at least it's there.

Just as an observation. I'm playing the devil's advocate here.
People biking or jogging with waist packs screems "ROB ME!! I have all my goodies in my little sack here".
If I'm looking to rob someone while they are out jogging or biking,I'm gonna be paying more attention to the folks who are carrying fanny packs.I've got a better chance of getting money or car keys or ATM cards ect..The plain joe jogger with just a shirt and a pair of shorts isn't gonna catch my eye.
I can't offer a good solution since I'm allergic to excercise.Horribly out of shape,a terrible fighter(lost just about every one I've been in),a bad back, worn out knees and bad eye sight. That's the main reason I carry a gun now.I'm too old to be mixing it up with the young hoodlums nowdays. :D

If you're allergic to exercise, don't make a living out of robbing runners.

Does anybody in town carry the Eagle "fast action gun packs?"
I found lots of online vendors, any recommendations?

I take it the Eagle packs are the best?
Anyone know how much they cost?
I need to get a new "jogging bag" because my old Columbia is getting prety haggard.Maybe one that is actually *designed* for a gun is in order....
