I am not sure where but I have seen some carbon fiber AR-15 lower recievers that were very inexpensive. They were either carbon fiber or plastic. I also think I have seen a lower reciever made of plastic and the stock and grip and lower were all one piece. Have any of you guys seen these or am I totally mistaken?

Bushmaster makes carbon fiber lowers called Carbon 15s. They also have some carbon stocks that go with them but I haven't seen a one piece lowerstock that I recall.

the one piece ones are from cav arms.

I could see the benefit in making a pstol out of a carbon lower, but aluminum is plenty light on its one, imo.

I am thinking about building an AR. I need one good rifle and I can't decide between an AR, the SIG556 or a VEPR. I know I want it to be gas-piston operated. So the AR would be the most expensive or equal to the SIG in price. I would just buy the SIG but I am impatient and its not out yet. What do you guys think?
