I'm looking for a place to shoot handguns in or near Edmond. I'll be visiting so a members-only club that doesn't allow visitors won't work out. Sporting Clays in Arcadia seems to be out of operation and their website says members only on handgun range anyway. Silverleaf doesn't offer handgun services. I like H&H but it is awfully far from where I'll be. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I live in Edmond and you've just about covered all the bases. There's not a lot to chose from.
I'm a member of the OKC Gun Club, which is a great place for outdoor shooting, but... Believe it or not, it takes me just 5 minutes longer to get to H&H than to the Gun Club, and I don't have to take anything but guns and ammo.
I hope someone comes-up with something for you. I'd love to find an outdoor place to shoot that is close to home.

OKC Gun Club does host an USPSA match on the first Saturday of each month up at Arcadia off of Hiawassee Road. They really do a great job and the stages are all very well designed. You don't have to be a member to shoot the match. The cost is $15 and usually you will need between 100 to 150 rounds. Check the OKC Gun Club's website for more info. http://ipsc.okcgunclub.org/

The only problem with H & H is now they are so busy, you have to wait to get a lane on the weekends. 3 weeks ago I had to wait an hour and a half to get on the rifle range, only to shoot for 15 mintues, and then be told they were closing and I had to leave. The best option is to find someone that has some land, and go set up the paper plates.
