Have a friend in N.C. looking for a Glock 18 or 18C without any luck. Does anyone know where to find them? Are they currently in production? Any help or info would be appreciated!

(assuming he is LEO) G18 is in production in both configurations (G18 and G18C). Best bet is for him to go through his LEO armorer to request one. If it's in their budget, post pics when he receives the G18. I think DrBaker shot one at the Firing Pin in Hinton.
Edited to say: I assume he could own one without being LEO, as long as the proper forms/stamps have been submitted. I'm not sure on machine pistols. Anyone know? I know there are some dealers that frequent this site. I'd be interested to know.

How much does a G18 cost? Assuming you were LEO and bought it legally.

So....You can't just do a normal tax stamp and class 3 transfer on an 18, you have to be LEO?
There are no transferable G18's. They are all post 86 Dealer Samples available to Law Enforecement Agencies or Military only. A C3 dealer can get one if he has a demo letter from a PD requesting one. An individual LEO cannot get one on his own, but his department can get one and issue it to him. Some C3 dealers, after getting one on a demo letter, will rent them to regular folks like us, but they must be shot on the C3 dealers range (so that they remain in his possession).

If they did make a few pre-86 the price would be over well $10,000 now. Like the Beretta 93's. Someone makes a switch to turn any Glock into a Select fire. http://www.securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/1500/1555.htm
But it is a NO NO for most people just like CAR-AR-M16 said. I would love to have one myself.

If they made a few pre-86 G18's they'd be over 100k.

Firing Pin, are you coming over to the Oklahoma Full Auto Shoot this year. There were at least two groups renting G-18s last year. I've got to try it this year. Last year I video taped my boss shooting one.

New here, What is the Oklahoma Full Auto Shoot (I assume its a place where people are shooting full auto weapons), but when, where, what do you have to do to attend?

Thanks to all for your imput! My good friend is a LEO, surpisingly the feedback from his department has been positive?! :bigeye: If LE agencies can get them for around $580 then they are looking at getting one maybe two just to have for officers to try out. If they do I told him he needs to bring them and his sorry @$$ to OK and let us shoot them in return for the help!:thumb:

It is my understanding that Lawton PD has two Glock 18s in their armory.

I have not seen anybody hit anything they were aiming at yet. Talk about spray and pray. One of my fellow officers at 14 feet. Shot a full mag at a steel plate. Did not hit it one time. Need to shoot it like a regular Glock. Hit the trigger briefly. Go to reset. Then again. Need to do 3 or 4 shot bursts.

True. I went through a magazine and it looked like I just finished off the target with a shotgun, BLINDFOLDED.

I know they have at least one. I saw it at a demonstration put on by their Tac team.
