I received a e-mail from John Farnam the other day. They did some testing of DPX during a class. Shot DPX into gel. One layer of leather. Four layers of denim. John states that the ammo through his Kel-Tec .380. The bullet went in 9 inches. And expanded nicely. The bigger bullets of course did better. I may have to give up my Rangers. Regards
Cor-Bon sent me a couple of boxes of DPX to test which i will do when I get time for another 9mm test.
The DPX should please fans of deeper penetrating ammo and Evan Marshall reports it to be very good against steel barriers.
I wetpacked a few and so far,I'm a little underwhelmed.
Time will tell.
I wouldn't give up the Rangers just yet. ;)

I used to shoot a lot of the Barnes X-bullet when it was loaded for Taurus. I prefer that loading, as it was standard pressure, and Im not a fan of +p anything.
What testing I could do, with wet phone bokks, etc, was satisfying. I wouldnt call it revolutionary, or even out of the ordinary, but it was satisfactory. I dont know how the bullet does at higher velocities, and I dont figure I will ever find out. GDHP works just fine for me.

My understanding, and I could be wrong, was that the testing was done by an ammo company, namely Corbon.
There are things you can do to skew gelatin tests so the only ones I give much credence to are done by agencies or by Fackler or Roberts who have no particular allegiance to any round.

Im intending on going to a Terminal Ballistics class in August. I plan to take several different varieties of common .45 duty ammo, and utilize their gelatin, just to see whats what.
Hoepfully we will hire someone in time for me to go.

True.
I still think the DPX will provide good results after reading Evan's tests of them so far.

I've read several reviews of DPX. All 100% favorable. I plan on getting some in the near future.
