I'm not sure if there are enough full auto folks here yet for a full auto board, but there might be in the future. I have two.

I'm open to the public but I own the range,I shot a 1928 thompson it really gets with it.The range is 25 yards 12 lane heated and air conditioning.

it's never full so no waiting time.

the full auto shoot was AWESOME!! here's me and my buddy's MP5 and the rarest of them all, an M-249 SAW..

here's the gun that everyone wanted to shoot, but most didn't have the $$, it's a 7600RPM mini-gun..

Kjones, I see that you made it too. That minigun was awesome. I priced a shoot with it, $350.00 for 600 rounds. A little rich for my blood. I shot a M-16 this time, did the belt fed thing last year. Shot the 50 BMG and a SAW last year. Had limited funds this time. I got video of the mini-gun and the car kill. loved every minute of it!

WOW! THAT'S AWESOME.
I'm *really* going to have to go do that one of these days.

I've always wanted an MP-5

the rarest of them all, an M-249 SAW.."Rare" compared to what? It's not a transferable, pre-samples are pricey, but not rare, and posties are a dime a dozen.

A little explanation, please.

Kjones,
I took the video on VHS-C, if I could upload it I sure would. Did you see the Glock 18? One of my buddies shot it. I have to start saving my allowance for next year!

David Hineline alone had two:

ah, i didn't realize you were splitting hairs on this site as well. i considered this a rare SAW because it is in civilian hands. my buddy's uncle owns it and we got alot of attention carrying it around at the show. other than that, i guess it's not that rare, everyone should have one.

A lot of M249s are in civilian hands -- they're called POST SAMPLES. Any S.O.T. can own one and any Class II manufacturer can "make" one from a parts kit. In fact, every MG shoot I've attended has had an M249 on the line -- all civilian-owned. (I don't recall any branch of the military participating in one of these shoots, do you?)

There are a few pre-sample M249s, and they can be owned by S.O.T.s after they give up their S.O.T. or FFL, but the majority are post samples. Definitely not rare.

KJones, I understood what you are saying. There aren't many SAWs out there relative to many weapons we deal with, ARs,Aks, MP5s etc. :)

That is the place where my buddy shot the G18, I thought that I saw another one on the rack there too. From your photo, it looks like you were there right after the "car kill" Sat. afternoon. We may have been shooting just a few tents down to the right of you, Stovers, at that time. The SAW is an awesome weapon, but to rent it, the high cyclic rate leaves you wanting more. A 50 rnd belt is gone in no time. BUT you sure get an ear to ear grin.

Things like Colt Thompsons are MUCH rarer.

I took a walk down the line to see some of the other gear and talk to some of the other vendors.

The picture was taken prior to "kill the car."

Didn't any of you guys meet each other at the shoot? There were a LOT of people at the shoot, maybe a couple of thousand. I knew a few of the S.O.T.s and one or two other shooters, but it was a little difficult to try and meet everyone.

Yes, there were definately a LOT of people there. I saw a lot of my local friends. I should have been easy to spot, I was wearing my OFASATS tee shirt from last year. Maybe by next year we can wear our Oklahoma Shooters hats.

No, not pushin' Kelly, he has a lot to do keeping this thing going. He has done a great job with it. I will probably buy a hat and coffe cup, maybe a tee shirt too. More of making a joke about the number of full auto shoot tees there and me wearing mine too.
