MEGA MACHINE "Gator" LOWERS

I am looking to sponsor a group buy for OSA Members only. I have had a couple of members inquire about MEGA Lowers. I have contacted the company and have it set up to be able to receive lower receivers from them.

Now the dirt -
I am going to shoot a price of $120 out the door. Please understand that this price will include the lower, shipping, sales tax, and transfer fee. If there is a large enough demand, we can probably look at getting the lowers for around $100 out the door. Please understand that there is an approximately 1 month turnaround time frame we will be dealing with. Custom serial numbers are available as well (for a small up charge I am sure). Once I get a final number of lowers, I will PM you an exact price! The deadline for me to have your money for the lowers is going to be November 21st! I plan on submitting the orders on December 1st!
I apologize to the members who PMed me wanting Spike's Lowers. There is no way in hell I will ever consider doing business with them until they publish a letter of apology or prove their cost increases!
For Tulsans - I can meet you guys up there or, have them transferred to a fellow FFL that is affiliated with OSA to take care of the 4473.

Once you have decided FOR SURE that you are wanting a lower, send me a PM if you MIGHT be interested in a matching A3/Flattop Upper. Plan on spending $95 for the upper receiver. If there is enough of a demand on these as well, you can expect the price to be substantially cheaper!

Furthermore, I am changing the deadline for requesting an upper/lower to Wednesday November 19th due to the "mad rush." I will need your funds no later than that day. If there is some reason that you want a lower/upper but need some time to send the money, PM me. If you are willing to give me your word in writing via PM or in person via handshake, I will do whatever I can to facilitate your financial needs.

The uppers will come with M4 Feedramps unless requested otherwise.

Custom Serial Numbers will be outrageous. However, due to the number of lowers we already have spoken for, I am going to see about having the serial numbers start as "OSA-001" and go up in sequence. I thought that would be kind of cool to do since this is a group buy. If anybody hates this idea, I will try to do whatever necessary to facilitate your requests.

I am still in limbo about the caliber markings (Multi). I hope to find something out later on today.

Dustin was nice enough to post a link showing pictures of these lowers in comparison to others. They will be "The Gator" model with the gator skin appearance in front of the magwell.

Here is a link to some pictures of the different lowers and some descriptions. I believe all of mega's lowers have the "meat tenderizer" look on the front of the magwell, but not 100% for sure. I think Mega makes some of the nicest uppers and lowers around.

I placed the first order with MEGA this afternoon for 20 lowers. From what I can tell, that is the total number of committed requests for lowers from committed buyers. I am not going to post any figures yet, but I feel that everybody will be pleased with the quality and the overall price for this purchase.

I don't mean to come off sounding like a dick, but please do not litter this thread up with ultimatum purchases such as, "If they get down to this, then I will take that." As far as I am concerned, whatever discount we get is because of the fellow members who had a sack and committed to purchasing without fretting over $20. Like I asked in the very first post, please only post on here if you want to get in on the order or have relevant, serious questions. (besides J, you probably have $20 in pocket change in the ashtray of that nice Avalanche!:D)

I have updated the original post with answers to some of the questions that you guys had. The only thing I am in limbo about is the "Caliber/Multi" markings question. As soon as I find out, I will post it.
The custom serial numbers for an individual lower is going to be ridiculous! However, I talked to the HDIC over at MEGA and he said he could hook us up with a serial number series that starts with OSA-001 and ends with whatever total number of lowers we end up with (I told him what we were doing this/wanting the lowers for...ie, group buy - I don't want to come off like Mega in sponsoring our group buy or anything like that. The HDIC actually suggested it and said he could probably help us with that!).

YG, You have not missed the deadline at all. I wanted to get an order submitted ASAP for the members who already knew for sure what they wanted. I did change the deadline in the OP to shorten it a little bit because of the propaganda induced panic buying going on across the country.

Thanks for posting that info RR! I have spoken with many of you via phone or through PM about payment information. For those of you that I have not spoken to about the arrangements, please send me some "scratch" ASAP. We are getting close to the $10,000 mark and I do not want to have to worry about eating this especially around the holidays! Hopefully you guys might know a few good divorce attorneys and have a place to let me shack up for awhile because I can definitely see me being a single man if the Mrs FTF was to find out that I had to eat several grand in "gun parts" (Gawd, I lover her!).

Yeah I noticed that too. People that joined in November and only have one post ever and it is in this thread. Maybe this group buy should be like the classifieds. If you don't care about OSA, you don't get in. This is Les' baby though, he is the wheel man here. His mileage may vary.

So here's my story. All of the media hype eventually linked me to Rock River's website. I love playing COD4 and have always loved tactical weapons and gear. I've always wanted an AR type rifle and now that the push is on to buy one or possibly lose that chance for 10 years or more (or pay out the ass for one) I started researching again. That led me to AR15.com and to picture threads where I started drooling for free floats and ACOG's. After a day at that site I was hooked. I then started reading build threads and since I enjoy putting things together (like motors) I decided to build an AR. Now somehow through all of my searches of all of the vendors I ended up at OSA and saw that a member had some RR lowers for sale. So I joined. Then after more reading and searching I found the MEGA group buy. And that was my first post.
I am glad to join to the forum and not just for the great buy on the lower. I was prompt and to the point and my check was sent promptly as Les asked.
It just happened that my new desire to build an AR and running into this forum all coincided within a few days.
I did however yesterday read the sticky in the classifieds about not buying or selling if your not serious about being a member.
I did not get linked to this buy from another site.
I will be happy to participate in the forum when I have something that will contribute to the forum.
I was stoked that the serial numbers on these lowers started off as OSA. So my first build will have a bit more sentiment.
I'm also glad that my first post here is for an AR lower. I think it's fitting since guns are the glue to this forum.

I'm with Bubba! I am an avid gun guy, but I honestly hadn't stumbled upon this site until lately. I got the link and I'll be damned if it wasn't to my buddies in Oklahoma. I'm glad to have found this site! Is there a fee to become a member? I'd be happy to contribute if need be!

If possible I'd like to go ahead and do 4 uppers and 4 lowers. I want to build a 6.8 spc, m4, and a 9mm would be nice. The extra will be nice for a later build.

The vey first line in the very first post on this thread says "...for OSA members only..." People don't realize that when a group buy goes on all the burden is on the person heading up the group buy. All we have to do is psot our qty and ship our money, hell that's easier than ordering them online. So hopefully you new peeps will understand what a kick in the balls it is to suddenly get an influx of orders from newbies who got the link from a completely different board.

Sorry for leaving you all hanging in the dark. It's just that I have been having way too much fun here in Amsterdam with the red lights and dark nights that I don't think I ever will come home!

OK, just messing with you. I emailed MEGA with our final order now approaching close to 2 weeks ago (maybe longer??) and I have not talked to "The Man" since. I have talked with the director of their firearms division several times, before and after the election, and I am more or less waiting to get a call or email from him. Even without being there to witness it for myself, I can tell you that MEGA is just as slammed as everybody else and because of that I have been taking a stance to be patient and not be a pain in their asses by flooding them with phone messages and emails.

I will attempt to contact MEGA this morning/afternoon via phone and I am going to send an email as soon as I finish this post. All I ask is that you continue to be patient and when I hear something, I will post it up in this thread. Lastly, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me - but be patient! There is not a lot of time to respond to emails between all of the red light ladies and 3 day binges here in the back alleys of Amsterdam. I will send a post card and post up some pics!:hey3:

I spoke with MEGA on Monaday afternoon and they had confirmed that the order has been placed but could not give a definitive time frame. My best advice would be to sit back, relax, enjoy the holidays, and forget about MEGA Machine and hopefully by the end of January this post can be deleted!
Please note, I AM NOT GOING TO CALL MEGA MULTIPLE TIMES TO HARASS THEM ABOUT OUR ORDER! Being that, I would appreciate if everybody would relax and not be bothering the MODS with questions that they can not answer definitively! For some reason, I am no longer getting my PMs forwarded to my email account so I don't stay as up to the minute as I used to (if anybody knows how to remedy this, please PM me!).

I have had a couple of members ask me about starting paperwork to register their lowers as NFA items. I have no problems assisting you guys with registering them, but there is not a who;e bunch that I can do until I have the receiver with the S/N sitting in front of me (yes, I know that I could go ahead and designate a serial number for that person but I am not going to do that without having the product in front of me!).

Oh boy I can't wait. Although at this rate I'm never gonna get the LPK and mags I ordered from Del-ton so I guess I can't be in too much of a hurry. I'm guessing that getting a good barrel and but-stock is going to take forever too. Good thing I'm not in a hurry. Someday I will get to own my first complete AR. :gun2:

Got in contact with him and said everything is OK on the Lowers. Mega is extremely behind schedule and do not have enough machines to keep up with the flow or demand. They are getting caught up with the orders so hopefully it will be another month or so. Mega agreed to due custom serial numbers for close to nothing or anything at all. He does't want to keep calling and leaving messages on their lines so just hang in there and hopefully he will email you soon. His OSA account is screwed up and cant post anything at all or read pm's. He asked me to post this information in this thread.

Thanks for posting the update. I sabotaged my OSA account somehow and was totally screwed. All I was able to do was log in - No PMs, No Posting Just Viewing, and Helpless! Thanks to Mr KD for getting me set back up today and in business.

Sorry for leaving you all hanging in the dark. It's just that I have been having way too much fun here in Amsterdam with the red lights and dark nights that I don't think I ever will come home!

OK, just messing with you. I emailed MEGA with our final order now approaching close to 2 weeks ago (maybe longer??) and I have not talked to "The Man" since. I have talked with the director of their firearms division several times, before and after the election, and I am more or less waiting to get a call or email from him. Even without being there to witness it for myself, I can tell you that MEGA is just as slammed as everybody else and because of that I have been taking a stance to be patient and not be a pain in their asses by flooding them with phone messages and emails.

I will attempt to contact MEGA this morning/afternoon via phone and I am going to send an email as soon as I finish this post. All I ask is that you continue to be patient and when I hear something, I will post it up in this thread. Lastly, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me - but be patient! There is not a lot of time to respond to emails between all of the red light ladies and 3 day binges here in the back alleys of Amsterdam. I will send a post card and post up some pics!:hey3:

If anyone wants out of the deal, I'll take your purchase. Just PM me your info and I'll send you the cash you have in the deal. I will then PM Les and/or Yukon to cover my being in place for your lower. No one has to know publicly that you backed out other the me, Les and the Moderator. Hell, you may have a very legit reason to the way things are going these days, but nobody has to know if you want that.

Doesn't matter how many of you, I'll cover the whole buy if need be.

I really have no interest in having one or any of these. However my offer stands. If you take me up on it I'll be selling them in the classifieds on this board for a very small markup, maybe 10 to 20 bucks just to cover my time doing the deal(s). It will still be a smoking deal. So now you don't have to worry about it, you have an insurance policy AND a possible 2nd chance if you change your mind later. But once I'm in there will be no backing out. You have to take your chances when I turn them.

I only do this to help out Les and offer you guys a way out if you want it. So now everyone can sleep well until they come in.

I've talked with YG and I think he is trying to keep this from getting out of hand. I'm not saying that Les is free from any blame and I'm not saying that this has anything to do with his personal life. I don't yet know all of the details. I have shared my concerns and what information I have with YG. From there I am trusting YG to handle this...... for now.
