Anyone know someone in the Tulsa area who knows the right way to clean and maintain a suppressor for a MAC-11? I've read some books but want to know for sure before I clean mine for the first time.

Thanks!

I’m not in Tulsa. I have 2 sealed cans and what I do is soak them in Kroil overnight then I flush it out on my H.F. parts washer. I have Kerosene in the parts washer.

What type of can do you have?
Is it sealed or can you take it apart?

It is a Votex by Fisher Enterprises in Mesa, AZ. You can take it apart but I was told by the dealer who sold it to me not to unless it was not working. Insides (baffles?) are supposed to be stainless steel. I have never taken it apart.

Another dealer here in OK suggested basically the same principle as you did. Spray out with WD40 and let sit over night. Then spray out with gun scrubber and finish with a light oil.

A light oil?!? Sounds like directions for making a salad.:bigeye:

They say Kroil is a lot better then WD-40. Do you go over to the Silencer Forum? http://silencertests.com/

What clean a suppressor?? You shouldn't have to. The people at AAC told me they have 30k+ rounds through a ranger with zero cleaning.

Mine is filthy and I try to clean it every thousand rounds or so. It is very conceivable that performance could suffer due to deminished volume.
