There was a discussion on which was the best 1911 brand and if I remember correctly, I think everyone agreed that Colt has about the best one that's not too expensive. ($1200 or less)

I can be the first to say that Colts CAN have quality control issues..... I just had to send a S70 Repro back because of polish marks on the slide, but I'm picky with my guns.

Best 1911 $1200 or less?? IMHO STI.... however in the $1200 territory you're close to the semi customs.... SA TRP Operator, Les Baer, used Wilson etc. Hard to go wrong with any of those IMHO.

Yeah... why trade in my nice metal gun for a plastic one? Actually I like Glocks but I think they're ugly. That's why no glock for me. haha.

I like the look of Glocks, XD, HK and many others. I don't like the looks of many Sigs, CZ, and Berretas. Don't get me wrong, they each make good guns.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beerholder. :werd:
