I received my new Maverick Defender from K&D a few ago...

Yes, the 16+ week lead time seems very long, but when comparing Kevin's product to other top name leather holster makers out there, it's certainly worth the wait!

Not much else to say about the Maverick Defender than I've already written or in the review posted in this section.
It's an excellent design than can be worn either IWB or OWB (between pants & belt), and the cant agnle is adjustable via a hex bolt mounted steel spacer with a set of indicator pins to set it to the desired position.
Even though it's more of a compact minimal design ala the SSII, the single belt tab works much better than the SSII's twin loops in regards to keeping the holster stable on the belt....my main gripe about the SSII.
I can wear either the P228 or the G23 OWB under an untucked T-shirt @ 2:00 and it simply disappears.

If I had my druthers, it would be offered with a thumb break option, but sadly K&D doesn't offer that on this model.

Kevin, kept me notified about the production and was always available to answer any questions I had.
When he contacted me to let me know they were starting on my order, it was probably only 2 more weeks until I received it, including holidays.

Anyway, I highly recommend this design!

Pics when I can.

Until that time, here is a web pic or two:

Leprechaun, I thought you were a VM2 guy 'till the bitter end?

Apparently you've been asleep behind the wheel of your cruiser for quite a while, probably in a sugar narcosis from all the doughnuts....typical.

:D

I do like the VM2 very much, but it is not the best option for the position in which I carry (2:00) because it is only offered with an FBI cant configuration.
I prefer a straight-drop or even a reverse cant when I can get away with it.
The Maverick's adjusability allows me to have either.

AARRGH! My camera is still screwed!
As soon as I can get it lined out, I'll post some pics.

These really are awesome holsters!

J.P. You have to change or charge the batteries once in awhile. So get to it man...

lol
I wish that's all there was to it...

I'm still lovin' this holster!
As I mentioned in the OP, the only thing I'd opt for would be a thumb-break design....
While for the most part it may seem like overkill, particularly with an IWB holster, I think it'd be great for those folks who participate in physically demanding activities such as climbing or otherwise placing yourself in an abnormal position.
