I bought a used Para p10 at a gun show and it locked in battery. I took it to sports world to have it looked at because I didn't want to spend a ton of money, they shipped it to Para after I told them I was bringing it in to see if they could fix it without sending it off. Now 4 months later I find out they shipped it to para.

So now my choices are to
a) pay for shipping and their opinion that they couldn fix it about $120
b) shell out $500 on top of what I paid which would have come real close to buying me a nice new kimber.

I will never take another gun to them again :angry3:

I don't guess I follow what you're saying. You waited 4 months for SW to fix your gun and now they want $120 for shipping it to Para for repair? And for that $120 you get a repaired gun back? Is the $120 for shipping, parts, SW inspection of the firearm? What was the diagnosis of the problem and how was it resolved?

What's the $500 figure for? Need more details.

Tell them to stuff it. They sent your gun off without your consent. Tell them to eat the cost and give you back your gun. There is nothing they can do, and holding your gun in lieu of payment for services you did not request is illegal.

+1

Don't pay them anything.

$120 gets it back unrepaired.
$500 gets it back repaired by PARA.

The explanation I got is they thought I wanted them to ship it because I couldn't, I specifically said I do not want to ship this gun to PARA I paid too much for it already and it's not worth spending any more on if your smith can fix it let me know. He fired it, it locked in battery he couldn't get it unlocked they shipped it to PARA and called me with the repair estimate from PARA. Not called and asked if I wanted to send it.:scream:

The excuse I received is they thought I was under the impression I could not ship to PARA.

I already had an RMA number but I didn't want to pay the extortion pices FedEX wanted for shipping to and from PARA plus deal with their inflated labor charges since it's an old model not covered under the lifetime warranty.
