View Full Version : CCW permit is now here...7 weeks exactly
Wednesday morning I pick up my new CCW permit.
For fun I'll carry at work and since I am my own boss, no one can throw me out of my own store. You're welcome also. I will never allow a stupid "no handgun" sign.
Yippee!!......and have a great day!!!

JBW,
congrats on the CCW. my wait has just started. I turned in my app last wednesday so its been 6 days so far for me. If not prying, what are you going to carry? Oh and I noticed that this is your first post so welcome to the OSA, Great bunch of Okies here.

Carrying a Glock 38 (the new .45 GAP models).
I like reading this forum and Glock Talk, but I rarely have anything to add since I'm new to all of this, so I don't post. But I've learned a ton.
I'm in Broken Arrow, btw. Hopefully the wait will go fast for you. I've been in California for 3 weeks and then had my house flood while we were there, so the 2 weeks I've been back we have been busy having our first floor torn out and rebuilt. So for me the time went by fast 'cause I've been busy with other stuff.
Welcome to OSA!
Congrats on getting your CWL.
Don't be afraid to jump in and post often.

Got mine not too long ago. Took 10 weeks from the time I mailed it. There were 4 people in there getting finger printed when I went to pick it up.

Welcome to OSA! Congrats on the Permit. Like JP says, post often. Most of us here don't have much worthwhile to say, but we don't let that stop us.
Sorry to hear about the flood. How is the rebuild going?
The rebuilding is kindof slow.
It took 53 machines (blowers, special vacs inserted into the walls, and 3 dehumidifiers) 11 days around the clock just to get it dryed down. The dehumidifiers blew out 109 degree heat and we had no A/C for the first 3 days, so it was actually nice to get outside into the 94 degree heat to cool down.
Drywall is going up now...the whole process should be done in another 4-5 weeks.
The house was a mess upon our return. It was actually quite funny when we came home at 11:30pm, opened our door that goes into our laundry room and water literally poured out of the house. The contractor estimated that the hot water tank blew about 2 1/2 weeks earlier. So we had hot water flowing all that time.
So much water had run out of the house into the side yard that the neighbor kept checking for a broken sprinkler.
It's been a mess, but nothing important was lost. Just an inconvenience.
Thanks for asking :)
BTW, it was fun to carry today. At work I did IWB but this afternoon I did OWB. My wife didn't know I was carrying until we sat down at dinner and she saw the print through my tank top. So I guess it concealed well enough.
