Anybody fish on Greenleaf? My son and I may go when he gets home for a visit and would appreciate any info on this lake. Probably fish for bass mostly.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

No sure about green leaf but as far as bass fishing goes right now we are only having luck early morning and evenings through dark. Ive been having good luck with spinners (black with double willow spoons) can even run a pig trailer or worm. Hope this helps. Best bet is if you have a boat go to the euphala lake and fish for sand bass not eatable but fun for everyone. Sand bass are schooling close to the surface.

Why are they not eatable?

The only luck I have ever had at Greenleaf is on a boat. You can catch perch off the bank (very few) but enough to keep real young ones happy.

Good question? I was just told since i was knee high to a weed that you dont eat sand bass or mud cat. Old timers usually give orders not explanations.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like my son is going to stay in Stillwater and try and catch up on some flying time. So, put the boat up for another time. Anyway, it is just too hot for an old man right now.:thumb:
Thanks again!!!

You can eat sandies, just fillet them like you would any other fish, and cut all the red meat out of the fillets, it's toward the rear of the fish, the rest is good meat, or fish, whatever.
