It took exactly 91 days counting weekends to get mine. Buy the holster of your choice and practice carrying around the house sounds like a good idea.

I'm the most impatient person I know. If I survived the wait, anybody can.

3 weeks so far for me. Just ordered a Smart Carry holster. They are running a " gun show special" on ebay 50 bucks shipped. Gotta wait on it too. Spend part of your time here on OSA.

Definitely practice carry/concealment methods.
Also, and probably more importantly,go check into this:

Depending on what holster you order the wait can be about as long. If I remember I ordered my Milt Sparks and CCW at the same time and they arrived almost simultaneously.

You need to find a store that has a snack bar so you can do it right with nachos.

What's worse than the wait for your CCL? Waiting for your custom holster you ordered a week before you submitted you application for you CCL. It sucks to get you CCL and still not have a holster to carry it in.

Mine took 7 weeks exactly (so 49 days).

I mailed mine on June 9th and picked up the permit July 27th. Actually got the letter that the OSBI had approved me on July 22nd.

So hopefully the wait wont be long.

I carried around the house to get use to the weight, etc...

Also I'd say get a holster soon so you can get the exact cant and position for your carry. That way when the CCL comes in, you'll be ready and comfortable in public.

None of my friends, employees, or usually my wife have even noticed me carrying. So that's cool!!!

May the wait go fast for you!

It's good to familiarize yourself with carrying/drawing,and concelaing.
If you can find a way to afford additional training, you will be doing yourself a huge favor.
Also, you might look into some local IDPA matches,if you haven't already.
While they are in no way like a real gunfight, they will help you somewhat familiarize yourself with handling your weapon under stress.
Plus, you'll have a lot of fun.

Thats what I did too. I just carried around the house. Went to the range alot and shot. When it came, I was so excited, I strapped on the gun and went out in pubic. I was absolutely paranoid the whole time! It felt like everybody was staring at me. It wears off after a few weeks.

Hello,
I had to wait over 100 days for mine, seems they thought I was a foreigner, so about a month after I applied, they sent me a letter (white envelope) saying that I needed to send them a copy of my green card and drivers license. I was born in Japan because my father was stationed there in the Air Force. So thats what I wrote back to them, I didnt need a green card and I was born a citizen! Well, it took forever but I finally got my permit. During the agonizing wait, I kept saying to myself that maybe this week it will come..... I got to where I almost gave up, thinking they weren't going to issue it. I went on a 2 week vacation and on the last Saturday of my vacation, there in the mail was the notification that I had qualified for the permit! I tried to pick it up the following Monday, but it wasnt in, FINALLY on Tuesday afternoon I got to pick it up! Applied March 29- Approval letter July16- picked it up July 19
You guys that got it in a few weeks, I envy you! Thats okay tho, I got it and thats all that matters!
